Everyone should be held responsible for their own actions. The rapist should have been charged with rape. The woman shouldn't get charged with anything, but she shouldn't get any sympathy for getting drunk in public without good people she trusts around to make sure she doesn't end up getting raped. Better yet, don't get drunk in public. It's cheaper to drink at home anyway.
I agree with you. You seem to get it. This decision from the court is not infuriating, it's honest. If you're a woman and you get drunk with a man who later gets aggressive after you refuse, you're supposed to arrange for your own safety. The muslim rapist shouldn't have been let off the hook, either, but the woman who doesn't care about her own self defense should also be recognized as partially complicit. Carry a gun, and remain coherent enough to recognize when a situation can turn against you, and you have nothing to fear.
