Fluoride, and bromide for that matter, will compete with iodine in the thyroid. Unfortunately the major source for iodine for most people, iodized table salt, has been replaced with sea salt because people think it's better for you. It's fucking NaCl and just because it comes from the ocean doesn't magically give it powers to rid your body of toxins or some other BS.
In the least go back to iodized table salt AND switch to purified water. But adding a drop of iodine to a glass of water every day is not a bad idea either.

Lugol's 2% iodine solution. Add about 8 to 10 drops in a glass of water a day, and you're set. Of course, you can get a reverse osmosis filter for your sink, but I prefer the iodine.
