I have to disagree. He is doing what he can within the framework of what he is allowed to do. If he were the revolutionary, he would have the armed firing squads. But instead, he is merely attempting to bring some semblance of religious morality to the situation. Would you prefer that the firing squad be a wholly atheistic affair? That this man, who was willing to confront death and a squad of armed communists, should not have that last comfort of God as his final encounter before being brutally murdered for standing up for himself? I can only hope that we would be granted the same if such a fate burdened us. It is only human.
