THIS FUCKING BULLSHIT AIN'T RIGHT! THIS IS A LIE!

Because....back in the day, you had to put the taxable items at the very end. Milk, eggs, meat--all good. But cups, laundry detergent, dish soap...that was last. On these kind of registers, you had to run a subtotal, then add the taxable shit.

A very good store back then. But Hughes and Market Basket were closer, and also pretty good in their own ways, so we tended to go there more often. I always hoped mom would go to Market Basket, because then maybe I could go hang out at Zody's while she shopped.
