Random uninteresting fact about me, a total anonymous stranger on the internet. I used to play the piano accordion, for a number of years, about a decade ago. When I did, I was infatuated with music from eastern Europe, especially Russia, and eventually klezmer, which is/was the folk music of Ashkenazi Jews. So I used to be able to play a TON of Jewish songs, one of the first songs I learnt was this exact tune, Hava Nagila. Others I can remember; Tanz Yidelekh, Sherele, Varshaver Freylekhs, Odessa Bulgar, and a few others that none of you know or care about.

I stopped playing accordion in favour of the violin about 6 years ago and I still play that. I never really carried the same passion for klezmer onto violin, as I started to play the folk music of my own people, which was much better suited to violin than accordion. But I still played around with and listened to my old favourites klezmer tunes.

However I discovered NS just over a year ago. Since then I've deleted all klezmer albums from my phone/computer and I refuse to listen to, learn or play any klezmer tunes. I admit that I can't help but like some klezmer music, it sounds good to me. But my hatred of international Jewry, Israel and Zionism is just far too strong for to me ever appreciate something as innocent and apolitical as folk music.

Don't know why I'm sharing this but a part of me felt sad when opening this link and hearing that tune again. It's like a remnant from an old life I had, a life where I wasn't confused, depressed and enraged at the state of the world, a life where I didn't feel I need to be a racist in order to simply survive. A bluepilled life. Even if I knew the world was fucked up and needed serious changes, I could never imagine the actual levels of evil, manipulation and deceit that we as a society go through every single day.
