had a PD session with work last year. and i had never heard of this before but apparently we now have to teach an extra 'no no' with anaphylaxis treatment.

we have to actually tell people, no, you cannot disassemble an epipen, and use the remaining epinephrine and needle to inject that person a second time.

at the time, i thought 'why the fuck do we even nee.... who the fuck ever asked this? never heard of it' and forgot about it.

until about a month later when someone said in class 'yeah we got taught that....' im like fucking... what? (we had a major clean out of Registered Training Orgs a few years back, First Aid was hit. about 80% of companies in my field got shut down and bankrupted for teaching complete and utter fucking bullshit but getting paid top dollar for it.) Wherever the hell that dude was getting trained was telling them if the epipen doesnt work you can break it apart and use the rest of it.... thats gonna get you a manslaughter charge.

tl;dr everyhing stupid you can think of has a monetary reason behind it somewhere.
