Pretty much, just a case of connecting something which uses a file system the OS vendor doesn't refuse to support. No way will MS and Apple support each other, nor EXT4 or XFS or such.
I understand that FAT32 is the least incompatible, probably only because Apple needed to be able to read the common USB flash memory.
It is a pain on Linux as well. For those users; you can pull the PPA or use an App Image called "Android File Transfer". It is ugly and buggy but it works.

max file size on exfat is 16 Exabytes , more bits than the water molecules in the pacific.
1 exabyte (EB) = 10^18 bytes = 1,000 ^ 6 bytes = 1000000000000000000 bytes = 1,000 petabytes = 1 million terabytes = 1 billion gigabytes
1 billion gigabytes!!!
16 exabytes is 16 billion gigabytes!
==============
RedCobra, if your PORN COLLECTION has a single file bigger than 16 billion gigabytes, you are definitely never going to play it in this lifetime
