I posted multiple time before in here, poal, and other places. Not everyone can be a fitness pro, and sometimes legitimate genetic health issues come into play.
Tonight I took a header into the rear bumper of my car in the garage. I have about a 3/4" gash on my right eye orbital area.
I have a medical condition, Stills Disease, basically an auto-immune disease where my body attacks my muscle and tendons. I've been trying to get into shape, and riding my bike 4 miles a day 3 times a week or more if I can. I'm trying best I can to get more fit, and more a man...
but alas I fail mostly. Many times working on heavy labor around my home I've had to stop. Literally seeing spots, tunnel vision, then almost passing out. After working that hard I usually have to take a week or more off any physical activities.
Over the past months my best friend and I built a new retaining wall. I lost count at 30 wheelbarrow loads of back-fill, and no count of the bricks manually carried. All that labor sent me into multiple times of seeing stars, tunnel vision, and stopping work for a good 30 minute break.
I went all-out tonight trying to be more fitness orientated, as I'm done with the wall build, and need to be not a fat slob. I literally have been working on this fore a year now, even in the horrific shape I am currently in.
So tonight I rode almost 5 miles. On the ride back there is a large uphill area. I pushed at it, and came down the last part, then in my driveway literally saw spots, then stars. I took a full header into the back bumper of my car in the garage. I have about a 3/4" gash on my right temple, and it is closed with liquid band-aid.
Sometimes people trying to get fit fail, and fail miserably. I'll try again, but for all you fit guys know that not everyone can achieve your status. Sometimes it is genetic, and sometimes it is not my own fault.

FUN FACT #475 : FAT PEOPLE LIVE THE LONGEST =========
Actually fat people live the longest on earth based on over 90 science papers each using millions (yes millions) of coroner statistics.
A paper that is a meta analysis of over 90 science papers proving fat people live longest and is :
Association of All-Cause Mortality With Overweight and Obesity Using Standard Body Mass Index Categories A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
From the world-renowned JAMA (American Medical Association) , January 2, 2013—Vol 309, No. 1
You can debate health, quality of life, income, occupation, sports risks, etc, separately, but it is a solid scientific fact that a tall man 60 pounds overweight will live the longest. (BMI 35 lives longest of BMI ranges)
Its a big paper, discussing the over 90 other papers, but the one key thing to read out of it is the fact that BMI 35 lives the longest. BMI of >35 starts to die off more than BMI 35 through 27.
Grade 1 obesity is BMI 35 according to that paper.
If you actually read the meta study of the 90+ studies of UNEDITED DEATH DATA, it said in it :
ACTUAL QUOTE:
"Grade 1 obesity overall was NOT associated with higher mortality, and over-weight was associated with SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER all-cause mortality"
It defined the fat BMI ranges for the above statement as :
overweight (BMI of 25-30), grade 1 obesity (BMI of 30-35)
but grades 2 and 3 obesity (BMI of >35) start to die more than average
That famous science paper said additionally :
"These two groups combined LIVE THE LONGEST of all humans : overweight (BMI of 25-30), grade 1 obesity (BMI of 30-35)"
This is a paper with 2.88 million individuals, and 97 unrelated DIFFERENT science studies.
Others used tighter BMI bins, for classification, and indeed BMI 32 to 35 (obese) live the longest on earth.
If "death" is the definition of not healthy, then being fat is the healthiest way to not die based on 2.88 million individuals, and 97 unrelated DIFFERENT science studies!
voat.xyz has only a handful of scientists, so many here will not understand this fact, no matter how plainly I type it out.
But basically, a "meta-analysis" is a paper that compares all similar papers, and compares all papers to each other, and publishes a definitive master paper. That Paper I am citing concurs with the 97 prior papers that, though hard to imagine, the optimal BMI for merely NOT DYING, is to be BMI 32 to 35 (obese), before you die. No data exists from coroner report of BMI in decades prior to deaths, or why they died.
Fat people just provably live the longest based on many multimillion dollar studies of DEAD PEOPLE from coroner reports. 2.88 million individuals, and 97 unrelated DIFFERENT science studies is definitive and profoundly accurate source of this fact.
Many papers a person might try to ever claim disagrees with these 97 studies, are papers using EDITED datasets, not random. For example they omit smokers, or omit certain races, or omit certain regions of countries, omit accidents, omit suicides, or omit certain age ranges (not kidding!!!). I do admit that all 97 studies probably omit ages under 48 months old (2 years old). But the 97 are unfiltered, raw data, RAW, un-manipulated data sets of dead people.
"ALL CAUSE mortality" means "ALL CAUSE", non-edited, non filtered, all dead people, all of them.
But why fat people ? :
Once again, myriad of co-factors could be the cause, some possibly deceptive ones : vitamins, food range, gut biome, absorption of damage in car accidents or falls, avoidance of dangerous hobbies, lack of employment in military or police or lumberjacks, wealth (rich whites are not skinny), worry about health so catch cancers earlier, taller at high BMIs, less respiratory illnesses, who knows? IT COULD BE hundreds of weird reasons. It could be genetics. It could be fat viruses (there are a few known)...
IT COULD BE ANY WEIRD REASON.
But the truth is, provably in meta-study "Association of All-Cause Mortality With Overweight and Obesity Using Standard Body Mass Index Categories A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis", that VERY FAT PEOPLE LIVE THE LONGEST, if they ever show up at any morgue, in any nation.
TL/DR: Losing weight might shorten your life dramatically, based on millions of data points and over 90 science paper studies.
Not too many people on voat.xyz are scientists, so they will not accept logic or irrefutable facts from millions datapoints of 97 carefully restudied papers.
Science is not a belief system and science is not a popularity contest.
Science is science. This fact has been studied to death 97 times each time the same result. 60 pounds overweight people live the longest of any other fat percent group.
"These two groups combined LIVE THE LONGEST of all humans : overweight (BMI of 25-30), grade 1 obesity (BMI of 30-35)"
This is a paper with 2.88 million individuals, and 97 unrelated DIFFERENT science studies.
Dude, first off, good for you for trying to better yourself. Second, take it slower. You aren’t just going slower to get your body incrementally ready for more, you are more than anything else learning: what works for you, what does not, how to recover better, what food help and hurt what time of day, what technique, etc etc. Have some grace and have at it
That sounds more like a blood oxygen level issue if you're seeing stars. Sit and crouch your head between your knees, your brain will need more blood flow. Skinny people also have this issue.
2) If you know you have issues with exertion, then don't be fucking stupid and exert yourself so much. Period. Else you get hurt like you did now and in the past. Go ride a recumbent cycle for an hour at 75%. You'll burn 400-500 calories. Read a book while you're doing it, or watch tv--if this is boring to you. I listen to music, podcasts, other shit like music theory. Whatever.
3) Weight is all about calories in v. calories out. If you're fat, it's because you're eating too Goddamn much for your activity level. That's all.
You want to be Superman? Doesn't sound like you can. You want to meter out the exercise slower and build up over time? Probably a better idea.
But calories is the key to keeping fat off of you. Don't forget that, and don't make excuses.
The calories in and calories out thing is a lie, btw. It's one of these things that seem true, but actually isn't. If you want to listen to an expert explain it with fancy chemical formulas and stuff: https://www.talk.lol/viewpost.php?postid=609a6803092da
The calories in and calories out thing is a lie, btw.
Jesus Christ. No dude. NO. It's not a lie. What you posted is, at the heart, cope. And it doesn't address calories in, calories out. It talks about the different types sugar. Whether you get more cravings from one type versus another is irrelevant.
I GUARAN-FUCKING-TEE YOU, if you eat at a deficit, you'll lose weight. Recall the teacher who ate nothing but Hostess snack cakes for a month; but lost weight because the total number of calories consumed was less than he burned.
OK man. Tried in good faith. Don't hit your head again. And stop being fat.
Go watch the video and learn why calories in and calories out is a lie. It does address this, but you have to watch the entire thing. Of course you'll lose weight when you starve yourself, that's not the point. The point is you don't have to eat at a deficit to lose weight and it isn't healthy to eat at a deficit, either.
Cut out sugar as much as you possibly can; I don't know if you are diabetic or not. Reduce your food intake. Drop your meal size by a cup at least if you eat large meals, and make that drop the worst food you have on your plate. Focus on cardio if you aren't trying to build muscle.
Then change what you eat. Fitness is half about what you eat. It's not just calories in and calories out, which sounds true but is wrong. It's about what you eat and what kind of chemical processes it triggers inside your body. Once you have what you eat sorted out, you will naturally stop gaining weight if you were on a weight gaining spiral. Now it's time for light exercise.
Depending on what people actually eat, it's not zero effort. Lots of food you can buy for cheap is poisoned by a chemical that will inhibit the bodies signal to your brain that you have eaten enough. If you eat that stuff, you will always feel kinda hungry. Now you could go counting calories and be disciplined and stuff. Or you could simply cut out the poison.
[ - ] Wahaha 1 point 3.9 yearsJun 17, 2021 08:39:43 ago (+1/-0)
It's difficult to figure out when everyone around you is lying to you about it. Also not something you look out for, unless you know. Sugar is in all processed food.
Good on you for putting in the effort. I would also suggest that diet is another key factor along with exercise. Yes sometimes there are extenuating circumstances, but in my experience diet plays a big role in managing weight.
fat people hate is something you need to be dismissing. You aren't all fat people, and you aren't measured and judged by internet posts.
The people in your life and their opinion of you matter. Mutual respect is a societal nicetey and free pass for people we don't know in the real world. Knowing people builds respect based on substance.
With your health issues you need to be more concerned with what and how much you eat to maintain and improve your health before you think of anything else.
I have no idea what you eat, but what you buy or don't buy is more important.
Three meals a day and each meal is one third carbs, like potatoes, rice or pasta. One third protein like meat fish, poultry, eggs etc. One third vegetables.
skip the entire idea of being special enough to need treats, snacks or desserts. Nobody is. They're not rewards, they're punishments to your body.
If you're hungry between meals; so what. Be hungry. Time will pass anyway.
Be nice to yourself by being tougher, and i don't mean physically.
You don't have to skip the concept of treating yourself. Just change the treat to fruits. And don't add sugar. Also, cutting out all the refined sugar will also make the feeling of being hungry go away. There's no need to suffer being hungry and all the negative consequences. Just cut out the sugar. It's hard, I know. Sugar is a drug and most people are addicted without even noticing it, since sugar is in basically everything. If you can't completely cut it out, reduce it as much as you can.
