I'm one of ten adopted children in my family. I've talked about this on here before, but it seems relevant to this thread. My father was a doctor, and my parents specifically adopted children with medical problems. Two sisters have spina bifida, brother had a hole in his heart, other brother had problems with skull fusion, my two youngest sisters were basically traded to a pedophile in exchange for heroin. It's a cold world out there, but there's still good people left. Not saying I'm one of them, but my parents are.

I have some info from my adoption file, but past that I never looked. It's not that important to me. Some of my siblings have, but for me personally it's not a can of worms I want to open.

Hey ten is a lot. Can't expect perfection and I'm a product of that environment. I'm grateful for them though.

I've never understood that argument (fundies want to ban abortion but not take care of babies). Trad communities have plenty of charities to take care of the genuinely needy.

Abortion is wrong even if you don't adopt every unwanted baby, cold blooded murder is wrong no matter what. But this guy is a truly good person.

Honestly it's a reasonable concern. Exactly the same thing happened in Brazil with a woman who adopted hundreds of children. She was banging them indiscriminately.

The way they said it made it sound like they had contracted it since being adopted. "Have been infected since their birth" can be read multiple ways.

Ukraine has a really high HIV rate, about 1% of the population. People who abandon their kids probably live a high-risk lifestyle.
