I have heard DDT killing the eagles is a myth. I don't have a personal opinion on it.

my dad can attest to it. He was PNW raised since 50s and watched them disappear. I mean who knows if it was the DDT but they came back when it was banned. He compains they stopped logging to save the "spotted owl" that's a good example of government shenanigans banning economic activity for nothing but feelings

They argue it is a coincidence with the DDT. They say other stuff, like habitat destruction was causing the lower number of bald eagles. And that the recovery of such started before DDT was banned.

At first I thought you said you saw a bald eagle eating a snake on the river today. I believe the Mayans had a prophecy about an eagle eating a snake in a body of water, or something along those lines.
