Cigarette smoking is. Nothing good can come of it. With cigarettes, you are literally breathing carcinogenic tar into your lungs.

Most cigar and pipe smokers on the other hand, end up living for a very long time. You don't inhale the smoke, the nicotine and MAOI's are imbibed through your mouth. Lots of money has been spent to smear pipe and cigar smoking, but those tobacco products are a far different, much more natural and safe product than cigarettes. Even snortable natural tobacco snuff is safer than cigarettes. You can smoke a pipe and cigars quite regularly without ever becoming addicted.

Ancient cigars have been found preserved in Aztec and Mayan sites. The Native American Indians even used to make tobacco enemas. They've been using it medicinally and recreationally for thousands of years. There is nothing natural about a cigarette.

A cigarette is literally tobacco cutting room floor "saw dust" waste product sprayed with chemicals wrapped in a chemically treated paper, and designed to be extra addictive. Doing any non-man-made non-hallucinogenic drug is degenerate, but cigarettes are especially nasty. It also prematurely ages you.

I had a bout of crippling anxiety and depression that I could not shake. It was bad. I didn't even leave my house for 2 months, except to go to work, and I even stopped showing up for work. I was devastated and couldn't shake the feeling. I ate 10 grams of Matzapatec magic mushrooms and I was cured. This was years ago. I haven't done shrooms since. It literally cured my anxiety and depression over night. A couple of days later I put my resume online, got a new job, and I've been fine ever since. Magic Mushrooms are amazing.

Depends. It's like anything - moderation is key.

Used occasionally, it can be a pleasurable, positive experience that induces a sublime sensation of relaxation while focusing clarity of thought.

I definitely recommend not going full-time. The magic of the experience is replaced with a nagging addiction.

Nicotine addiction is particularly insidious in that it jams itself into the acetylcholine receptors in your brain, like chewing gum in a door lock, rendering you chemically incapable of relaxation without it. This is why regular smokers report experiencing the sensation of relaxation even though nicotine is a stimulant.

If you're planning on giving it a go, I recommend sticking with the occasional cigar or pipe and avoiding cigarettes entirely.

If you ever find yourself asking whether it's something you need. Put it down and walk away. You can always try your hand again later.

Can't relax? Might prove useful some day.

I'm in the process of quitting now. I haven't smoked in 7 days. This is after having started smoking regularly at age ten. 47 years later, here I am. Understand I grew up on a tobacco farm, it was normal/not unusual for us kids to smoke.

No, but all these scientists around here will repeat their cancer lines.

No link between smoking tobacco and cancer.

Cancer comes from the chemicals in American cigarettes, not from the burning plants.

This is correct. Cancer rates in pipe smokers and cigar smokers are not significantly higher than the control group of non-smokers. With cigarette smokers, the rate is 500% higher or some crazy number I forget. It is common for cigar smokers to live into their 90's.

What about my freedom to smoke?

I think the addiction makes you less free. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJMU0kMqsDA

Fuck if I care if smokers wish to poison themselves, but it becomes doubly degenerate because retard smokers also poison everyone else around them.

According to the American Lung Association, there is no safe level of secondhand cigarette smoke.

Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which means it reduces blood flow. This vasoconstriction also affects those inhaling the secondhand smoke.

"There is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke and even short-term exposure potentially can increase the risk of heart attacks."

"Secondhand smoke contains hundreds of chemicals known to be toxic or carcinogenic, including formaldehyde, benzene, vinyl chloride, arsenic ammonia and hydrogen cyanide."

That's only from American cigarettes, not tobacco.
