Turn off google play. You'll get a pop up every now and then saying something like how sad it is that google play isn't working, and somethings won't work. All my somethings work.
Well.. that might be the problem. I like a vertical recent apps bar and for some reason android went apple and switched it to horizontal. There's also a new stupid about not drawing over system. So my status bar replacement doesn't work on the newest version of android. I don't care for a color changing status bar. Anyway I'm working with a buggy stock android 6 because the oldest lineage available is based off of android 9 and 9 is when the trouble started.
