Is it possible to make a backlight for an iPad sized slab of resin?

I want to cover it with a stencil so it creates light up text. my plan is to embed the LEDs and a 3 volt battery inside the resin so it's a very slim tablet.

But I don't think regular LEDs will diffuse the light very well. Any suggestion on how I can get the entire slab to light up evenly?

Short of any 🙄bright ideas Im just going to mix baby powder into the resin and see if that will diffuse the light enough. What do you think?

Color changing led strips are super cheap, You could use a whole roll and have them very close together, You can get pigments which will likely work better than baby powder.

Tv's achieve this with edge lighting.

Bit of perspex, led on the edges...

Be mindful of lights interference

What kind of resin?

Clear casting epoxy resin has different properties than a clear polyester resin, such as surfboard resin..

There are uv reactive pigments that can be mixed in making it glow relatively evenly….

I'd say to just scratch up the resin with a high grit sandpaper. That will diffuse the light quite a lot.
