I'm not that old but my dad's first couple programming jobs involved punch cards. First computer I ever used was a TRS-80 where you had to run each program off its own floppy disk because there wasn't enough hard drive space for anything but the OS (if it even had a hard drive, hell if I know, I wasn't even in kindergarten yet when we got it).
