If you search around the usual places, you'll find many videos of farmers explaining that the government is in fact coercing the farmers to destroy the crops. In one video I saw, farmer actually reads the written order and shows the maps that point out exactly which fields to destroy.

Not going to gopher it for you though, I don't work for anyone for free.
