You will never be more free than you are right now. Freedom equals hope. Hope equals challenge. Challenge equals opportunity. I’m not going to give you the usual advise about lifting weight, cleaning, and straightening up various minutiae in your life. I have no doubt you’ve already heard all that and are secretly loathing yourself for being too lazy to start all that.

No. I won’t give that recommendation to you. Instead, I recommend you just unplug for a while. Unplug the Jew box. Unplug the dumb phone. Unplug from the false reality you don’t think exists around you. No one is holding a gun to your head to do a school program you’re obviously ambivalent about. So throw that idea out the window.

These ideas you’ve created about expectations, obligations, hope, failure, duty, future- it’s all bullshit. You don’t have kids. You don’t know the first thing about any of that shit. Like I said, you will never be more free than you are right fucking now. That wasn’t hyperbole. You have near infinite freedom right now, but have been conditioned to believe you’re wearing chains. Your chains aren’t real. So instead of living a life of unnecessary desperation, just unplug. Go to the top of a mountain or wherever the fuck you need to go to contemplate deep sighted things, and imagine a better reality for yourself. Then get off the mountain and remember one of your most powerful abilities is the capacity to just walk away from whatever you don’t want and likewise choose to remain with whatever you do.

One other thing: selfless service is it’s own reward, if a reward is what you need.

So, how will you be more free in the future? Why do you have no time?

There's a 'sense' that you have not developed and you've never been taught. Most people don't even realize it exists. It is the sense of longevity. A true sense of time. When you are young, everything seems to take forever and is a lifetime away. 4 years is a eternity. When you are older, the years pass like months to you. It becomes easier to wait things out.

Connections are better than grades. Find out who runs the doctorate program and go plead for his guidance, his ego will make him want to help you. Unless you have a terminal disease, you have time. You're in a big, fucking hurry and probably have no idea why. These are the chains you wrap yourself in.

Really think. What happens if you walk away? Really. You have debt? Shame? A ridiculous as this sounds, but it's a thought exerise, what happens if you became a homeless man on a street corner begging for money for the rest of your life? You're still alive and you answer to nobody. Of course, you have wants, so what are they? Do you want to be a doctor? Or do you want the money it promises? Get to know your motivations. Can you move slower? Retake courses without paying again? Time is not your enemy. What happens if you stop going for a year? Do the loans start? Do they stop when you start going again? If you were to become a TA you can actually get paid to take classes and get your doctorate. If you didn't know that, what else do you not know?

Wallow in your self pity this weekend. On Monday, lose the litle bitch attitude, and start asking questions. You don't need all of the answers.

If you do decide to end your life, please make it mean something by taking out a few high level jews. Just kidding. Not really. Haha. Just kidding.

Your family may have expectations but they don’t own you.

They are supposed to support your choices, not make them for you.

Are they supposed to care for you indefinitely or are you just supposed to do as they say? That sounds like abuse, sounds like our government.
Do you need your mommy and daddy to care for you or are you going to move states away and struggle through the growing pains and become made of steel instead of clay?

Lol I get that you’re angry, but don’t take it out on me.

I went through similar shit in my life and it took me moving away and gaining character in ways I thought I needed none.

You’ll die alone, we all die alone, even if others are in the room you are going on that journey solo. You have to live with your life every day up to that point, who are you more likely to be happy serving; yourself or someone else?

Your parents chose to have you because they loved each other. If they had you because they wanted a life to control that is flat out abuse. Your parents should be helping you brainstorm new ideas to make the best life for you, not stubbornly shove you into a pre-made box they want you to fit.

This is so obviously a toxic family situation it’s like I’m watching a fucking 90s sitcom. Realize this mental anguish is your mind calling out for a rational change and your ego is fighting it like a child throwing a temper tantrum.

Keep living for other people, clearly that’s been working out fine for you, look at how happy your are about it right now!

I wash my hands of you, either you’ll be brave and try something outside the box or you’ll blast your head open and leave a mess for someone else to clean. Either way, get off voat and get to work you scared little boy.

Who told you that living in turmoil for your parents sake is right?

Did you even approach mommy and daddy yet about how unhappy and unobtainable their goals for you are?

You’re a fucking idiot for choosing turmoil over actual growth.

No, I do the small shit. That's all it is. Small shit. Lifting weights and making your bed every morning doesn't change shit other than you've picked up weight and made your bed.

The idea that these actions somehow magically have an effect on your life is some serious new age juden peterstein bullshit.

Not really, I'm sure you've heard this, but you're rewiring your brain to think in different, more consistent ways. You're not doing small shit just to do small shit, you're doing it to build up your willpower. It's not as important that you straightened a piece of cloth in the morning, it's important that you did your routines consistently without fail, and what's even more impactful, is that you forced yourself to do it at occasions when you felt extremely lazy, or pressed for time, or was in an inconvenient location.

How long will it take? Hell if I know, but it takes about 7 years for all cells in your body to be completely replaced, so use that as a higher estimate. How many old people have you contacted with? My grandpa, up until he passed recently, used to behave in mostly the same manner day-to-day, almost as if he was on rails. Getting older, I realise those "rails" will be what I wire my brain like. Your neuroplasticity diminishes with age, it's impossible to overstate how important it is to build your habits and put yourself on right "rails" so you can gracefully roll on them into your old age without becoming a mindless blob. I'd say the most useful habit is to learn to build habits when you need to.

Lmao

Oh no, it's retarded.

The world currently employs based on race and gender. Or other similarly stupid characteristics that are beyond your control. You could pretend to be a fag and probably get that job you want so badly.

You got sucked into the education system, which is largely a huge scam. So hopefully you learned something because the paper is next to worthless. You get by on your ability to produce, and you overcome hr departments full of clueless blue haired feminists by consistently over producing. You go right over top of HR if you overproduce long enough and consistently.

You got screwed in a small way. But more detrimental than that you've been brainwashed. None of your problems are serious problems. Talk to your family as though you were a man, problem solved there. Tens of thousands of dollars if debt can be overcome, talk to any accountant about it. They'll set you up, problem solved.

You have anything you want ahead of you. But you're looking at things you were told that you want, and at obstacles you were told you can't overcome.

Hello me from a long time ago. I did 4.0 years of STEM and 1.5 years of Business Management. I dropped out twice. It's not that I couldn't do the coursework, it's just that I didn't give a fuck about any of it because it felt like a bunch of bullshit that wasted my time. I did rack up a cool ~120K+ USD in student loan debt though. My opinion really hasn't changed, but the debt was a nice baseball bat to the nuts to 'start life with'.

Rough timeline of events:

a really fucking long time ago: Dropped out (again)

Found an older couple who rented me a spare bedroom for ~$100/week. Started working in a literal sweatshop doing plastic injection molding as an operator. Pay was ~$9.55/hr. Place was a fucking meat grinder, dozens of people came in every day and were gone by lunch. I got fired after 3 months, day before I would have gotten hired on. lul fuckers.

Started at another factory this time making powdered metal parts working 3rd shift. Pay was ~$11.00/hr. Worked there for 9 months until I couldn't put up with it anymore and quit.

Basically at this point I worked a full year doing sweatshop jobs and only made ~20K USD. My car was straight trash and I was climbing in through the fucking windows because all the car electrical was broke & the plastic clips inside the windows had broke.. also didnt have power steering, so it was like steering a fucking cruise ship. I had to stuff the windows with receipts/trash to keep them from sliding down. I put my student loan on income deferment, so I was only paying like ~$110 each month. At the end of the 2nd job I'd saved a whopping ~3 grand.

Later got a job at another factory (seeing a pattern?) doing cold forging. Pay was ~$13/hr. I was entirely intending to just go get general IT certs at this point and get the fuck out of this kind of work. Working in an office for some general IT company doing basic IT for 40K/yr had to be better than what I was doing--- maybe I would make more if I skilled up. (I had a friend ultimately go this route-- at the same time-- he stayed with it and is now making roughly ~60K/yr doing piddly IT shit)

Anyway I had worked there a year and got pissed about my yearly raise. (was like ~25 cents even though I had a good evaluation). Anyway I wrote a 10-page letter on that little tablet paper people use to make notes about how bullshit my raise was and that it didn't even keep up with inflation (as politely as I could) and turned it into my boss-- I didnt give a fuck, I wanted my money. lol

Anyway my polite (rage) letter went from my boss, to HR, to C-Level management in corporate. After which I was summoned to HR to have a meeting with the Head of the Engineering Dept of who offered me a job in the engineering because I was known on the floor for being highly technically proficient.

What I didn't know at the time is that my 'new boss' in the Engineering department was a former Soviet Engineer who came over after the Iron Curtain fell. That guy turned me into his defacto apprentice, I spent the next 7 years doing literally anything he told me. Stay up all night(s) designing shit? Done. Go spend days or weeks taking unused broken equipment apart and figuring out how it works and then fixing it? Done. Electronics broken in the laboratory? Guess who had to learn electronics and fix it. "We need to weld some stuff, go get one of the stick welding machines from maintenance and learn" Painstakingly make an exact by measurement floor map of the entire facility (4 million sq ft)? Did that too. Create scaled diagrams of every piece of equipment in the facility? Done. Production equipment down? Better get your tools and go fix it. Boss going on vacation for a month? "Nothing better be broken when I get back". "The customer is angry, go make them less angry" and so on.

First year working under that guy I got ~10 dollars worth of raises, then got similar bumps just about every other year after that. I learned more from that guy than anyone has taught me my entire life. (single mom household/dad was AWOL except during mandatory visitations)

Had I not gone down the road that I did, I would have done one of the following areas (Especially now that I know better with regards to pay/lifestyle):

HVAC
Construction
Electrician
Plumbing
Heavy Equipment Operation (Eg: Excavators, etc)
Landscaping and lawn/tree care (I know a former diesel mechanic who now runs his own crew of ~20 people)
IT
Environmental Management

If you cant continue the path you're on, there are plenty of opportunities if you look for them and take advantage. Don't wait for something to pop up. You do 3-5 years in HVAC or something and start doing your own gig, you'll probably make more than you would have in dental hygiene. Bonus, you'll pick up skills to actually do shit yourself instead of having to pay other people to do these things.

To elaborate on that point, you would be shocked at the sheer number of corporate slaves who may make 60-80K a year, but they don't have any skills outside the office. So they end up paying for every little thing out of pocket. I like to call this the dumb-tax (aka I don't have the skills to do this, so I'll have to pay someone else to do it for me). After you factor the yearly dumb-taxes in for these people, they're really only making 45-55K year anyway. So there's a lot more that goes into how you live your lifestyle than the gross number you pull on a paystub every week. Be conscious of that and you'll do better.

How do you perform compared to your peers? Can you keep up? Do you have issues with irritability, energy, weight, or focus? Figure out your health and do what it takes to perform at a high level. If your GPA sucks, you are not performing well. You need to work on getting yourself into a good physical and emotional state before you can excel at life.

How do you read inside the classroom? How do you read outside the class room? Do you read for fun. Does reading make you tired?
Do you feel anxious under fluorescent lighting? Nail biting, figiting, etc.?
If you are very interested in something, is it easy to learn? It sounds like this may be a yes.
How many cups of coffee do you drink? Any other green tea or energy drinks? Are you irritable or grouchy? Maybe feel sort of pessimistic some of the time(current situation aside)?

I have been through a lot of what you are going through. I know the above questions might sound stupid but it took me 30 years to figure this shit out. No one helped me so I will do my best to help you.

The top stuff relates to Irlens syndrome. It affects about 50% of the population. It has the biggest impact on reading under fluorescents. It sounds like you probably don't have that.
Several of those symptoms also indicate ADHD- hyper-focus, boredom with classroom activities, etc. Maybe even dyslexia. Sounds like that is also not an issue. Maybe you could have a little of this, do some online tests if you think it is relevant.

For the pessimistic view- that could be a lack of serotonin. It doesn't mean you need to go on lexapro but you could be more likely to get depressed than others. Do some reading on 5 HTP supplement and maybe give it a shot if it speaks to you. It might help with your mood and bring your happiness back in sync. For 9 bucks, that may be something that could give you a different perspective on life.

Needless to say, I suffered from all of this stuff.

I was walking through life with a messed up brain and it was real tough. I thought I was kinda stupid until I figured this stuff out. I did an iq test a few months back and got a 138(99th%). Too bad I didn't know about this stuff earlier in life, it would have saved me a lot of bad times.

Disclaimer- not a Dr., just a guy.

Ha. Thanks. It doesn't matter if you are a genius if you can't keep a job, that was the breaking point for me, I had to reinvent myself and that is when I stopped giving a fuck and started winning. I told my wife about my iq and she asked me if that would take out the garbage. Lol. She keeps me humble.
Yeah, people can seem pretty stupid and yes, it can be lonely without a lot of equals.
Regardless, you don't have to be miserable. And most people are pretty nice if you give them a chance.
Whatever the issue, it sounds like you are smart but you have a block of some sort. Keep working on that block until accomplishing your goals becomes easy. Then make your goals harder.

Want a challenge? I made my first million at 27. Beat that and send me a message when you do.

I have lots of time and more money than i could use. I can walk away from my job withouth a second thought. That's not the point though. It is a reflection of how much the world values your work.
You know about dentistry a little and a little bit of technology.
Fire up the sklearn package tutorial about the flower pedals. Then, replace those flowers and train your model to identify tooth issues with x-rays. Then start calling dentist offices to see if they want to run some data at a low cost.
All of a sudden it doesn't matter if you flunk out of dental school. You can easily do advanced data processing for medical.

Just keep trying, whatever you do. Anyone could be a teacher. You could do something more if you wanted.
Good luck.

I hear you, but

do you think you are the first person to face this type of challenge?

What did those other people do? They figured it out. Some of them went on to lead better lives than the plan they had. What are you going to do? Figure it out. And you will.

It sounds like you are already in school and are being rejected for the next step? If Im reading that part right, you and the universe have conspired to make that next leg impossible or difficult. There are other paths forward.

I believe you're just venting and need to wallow for a minute. You haven't actually given up.

So what are you going to do? You're going to figure it out. How I don't know because I obviously don't know enough about you. You will figure it out though.

Go ahead and wallow in shit for a minute and when you're done get your ass back in tbe game.

Im also going to need 10 chinups immediately or I'll have to call you a fag.

If it makes you feel any better, it took me 9 years to get my 4 year degree. I had to take Calculus 4 times!

I hate to say it because it's becoming a trope now, but when you finish your degree, I would suggest getting some certifications in IT/Software Dev. That industry is only going to get bigger and even the starting pay is absurd (70k+). Plus you don't have to be any good at it. I've worked with some completely inept fucks who were only hired because hiring managers have such a hard time finding people i.e. far more jobs than there are people to fill them.

I can attest. I get relatively paid shit, but I don't actually do anything. My forty hour work week involves sleeping 36 hours and doing a sprint of 4 hours of work on Friday. It still is a lot of money for nothing.

I myself have an interest in data science and machine learning, and relatively enjoy it. I've been looking into IT certifications around those area, but they seem pretty scammy ("pay $99 for braindead copypasta tutorials and get a PDF with our logo!").

You have any recommendations with regards to those topics, or even just legitimate IT certificates in general that have some weight internationally? I already have a STEM degree, so not gonna go through uni again, fuck that shit.

You can always become a legitimate hobo and search to find a trade that suits you morally and mentally unto prosperity. Business owners and entrepreneurs are born from engaged struggle as opposed or in addition to inheritance so be the former, why not. Cash for trade and razors edge living sounds way more exciting than the niche you’ve thus far carved for yourself. The debt you possess now will eventually be sold for pennies on the dollar to collections (unless you sold your soul to the Feds) — you will be able to negotiate a fairer rate at some later date to amortize your burden, and your credit will be trash for a bit (who cares?), but I’ve witnessed honest success stories with way worse premise as starting points

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 3.7 yearsAug 28, 2021 16:39:26 ago (+1/-0)

I think becoming a dental technician is a good idea for you and I know you could go all the way and become a dentist. Yes I think I know you well enough to say that. I doubt your GPA will be a big issue but if it is just keep applying to other schools. They want your money and they don’t give a fuck about standards. Say you’re fuckinng hispanic if you have to.

We need more people like us in medicine and dentitstry. Non-pozzed whites. When the shit hits the fan, we will need people that can fill cavities. Okay? That is a basic need. White people need people like you that care about them and will take care of their teeth when the progressive cunts start demanding proof of at least one homosexual experience to get a dental exam. Or whatever the next bullshit hoop will be.

I think dental hygenist or assistant or something in that area is a very good skill. You should go for it.

Listen you faggot. There is not zero hope for you to have a family. You’ve talked yourself into that. You are not a failure. No one here thinks you are a failure.

You need to figure out some way to be a little bit more agreeable and not a sore assed bear all the time. You may be right about alot of the bad things happening to our society but youve got to balance that out a bit with some kindness and joyfulness, because no one wants to live with a person that is constantly pessimistic. We all struggle to keep hope alive and carry on with our burdens. You need to combine that righteousness with encouragement to others. If you feel that you have a better moral compass than the people around you, then its your obligation to guide them with out driving them off. The black pill thing is self indulgent. Its not doing you or anyone else good. I know you have suffered some real disappointments but you need to figure out how to forget about them and make the best of things. Keep working to better yourself. Keep forcing yourself to be more agreeable and not a 24/7 black pill dispenser, which is not fucking productive.

It pains me to read that you are so unhappy. I wish I could get you to understand that you must choose to stop catastrophizing and shut out some of the negative thinking that —Im sorry to say— you’ve gotten an extra helping of. You are just way too fucking young to act like its game over.

You can work in something similar in sales and make more than the doctors you are selling to. You aren't going to make 30k, there are many other fields that are related to your main path but they need someone to break down the technical jargon.

Also, you haven't worked in a professional career, if you were to become a doctor you will hate it in the first year. Guaranteed.

It took the same shit happening to me to get where I am. I had a complete life change in many areas of my life. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been, I have land, a kid soon (seven months in!), and I’m not even sweating the vax bs because I have my own food source that only I handle.

The world is collapsing and you can’t stay a part of it. If America doesn’t fall into war you’ll be better off with trade knowledge like plumbing, masonry, carpentry, or electrical, etc. those schools cost 20k and those jobs land you at least 60k, even in rural areas. And when the world goes dark you’ll be an even bigger hero and paid handsomely for it.

I’m sorry but these dreams you had meant you’d be in the slave system still, I was happy to (almost) escape that, I paid 200 dollars in taxes this year.

They've let in the flood of immigrants, they have no problem having a family of 6 in a one bedroom apartment. You and your current or hypothetical wife aren't arsed to pull off 2.5 children unless you have a big house. You might as well lay on ground and let the groids walk over you.

edit:
Can you raise a family on 30k?

Yes. You gotta milk the government for handouts like the groids do. Make the system collapse faster. What's the worse case scenario? You raise poor and angry white boys? I think we need those about right now.

You ne3d to talk to an advisor / career counsellor in your field. Your college probably has one.

I've been where you are...well, worse in my view. I wound up in a shit job where the owner of the company was a total shit for brains asswipe. It was the best I could do (and I tryed and tryed), and I felt fortunate to have that. I'd beat myself up daily wonder what the fuck was wrong with me and this depressing shit went on for years. FUCKING YEARS! It was a specialized niche, but I learned the different facets and worked hard anyway. Decided that it would be better to own the company and started working for that. These fucking companies don't sell cheap, and I didn't have 2 nickels after I'd bought that 6 pack Friday night. What I learned on my journey through Horrific suckville to happyville.

1st) "Organize (your life) and execute (your goals) around written priorities". This sounds easy but it's not. In fact, you're already further ahead than most as you've put some down on this thread. Friends and family are important, put that in the list of your priorities. Try to look at what you really really enjoy doing and put that on the list even if you cannot figure out how to monetize it. Don't you fucking
DARE put "dental hygienist" on that fucking list cause you'd be lying to yourself.

2nd) Life is a long song. Yeah, you are in a fucked up position - but it doesn't have to stay that way. Play the long game. McDonalds use to sell hamburgers for $.15/cents, Fries for .12/cents and Coke for .10/cents. .37 cents seemed like a crapload more then than it does now. The same 3 things will cost you a few bucks these days. The "insurmountable" debt you owe isn't insurmountable, in fact, the fed is working to make those dollars you need to pay less via inflation. Don't sweat those numbers: they're high today, they won't be high in a few years.

3rd) Shouting into a void might give a bit of a release but it doesn't do shit except to get a bunch of useless advice from peckerheads like me. You owe it to your folks to share the current shit show. Sit them down and as softly and apologetically as you can, include them into the game.

4th) After you have bared your soul to family, re-read 1 and 2 above. Maybe reread them daily for a while until you can shake off the inevitable lethargy. I've found that being moral and richeous as you say, it THE only way to play the game. Honesty will pay off.

Oh, BTW, I pulled that piece of paper which I had written: "I WILL OWN MY OWN XXXX COMPANY AND WORK TOWARDS THAT GOAL" daily. My evenings and weekends away from my shit job I was working on rental houses. I was able to get a low 5 figure number saved up (years), and not long after the total shit for brains asswipe owner had literally kicked my coworker buddy in the ass (all the while screaming at him) and tossed him out onto the street: I found a start up that could use a partner and the $cratch I'd saved up. I left, took all of asswipes good customers and my bank account started phattening like a big dog long before asswhipe was forced to close his doors 5 months later: for good. One of those accounts 10 years later had grown and where it had been doing $12,000 a month at the start with $6,000 net, wound up doing that near daily a few years and a merger down the road. Another was buying @40,000 items a year, they grew and last year we had a contract for 2 million of them. Fuck around time is important to me, and I work the least of anyone at the company cause I like to be out hiking, skiing, etc etc. Last month we chucked everyone who worked for us an extra $2500 dollars, because we have so much $ and we don't want to be dickweeds. When I'm there my first words are "what can I do to help you?" One dude had been stressing out and I asked him to give me all of his shit, the stress bullshit pile of shit he was working on -and he did. I worked on that shit till we were both satisfied and I have a happy dude sitting on the other side of the office. I have time for family for screwing around. Best of all, no dickweed boss, which was one of my goals. I've had people tell me that I am the best boss they've ever had, and I'll admits its gratifying to hear, plus I know that I've improved the world by eliminating one dickweed asswipe from a position on high. LOL.

Bliss is there my friend. You do not see it at this time as it is out of your sight, but it is lurking. Good luck, life's a long song brother. Have a good weekend, I'm on day 4 of this current weekend/screwing around. I'm thinking I might try and replace the horn on my car. I didn't try the horn when I bought it and learned recently that it sucks. It's a sucky little sound and I want it louder and larger.

@Phantom42_1 Yeah, I'm around. The hard part for you is figuring out what YOU really really like doing. I didn't do that as I muddled through, but wish I had. Muddling sometimes works, but its better if you plan it. FYI, I too thought I could be a teacher (the pay is better here than there -they start at $60,000 year), and I signed up to "student teach" by volunteering in the classroom. See I love to teach and love kids, my kids say I'm a natural, but when I volunteered (3rd grade class) I was ready to pull my fucking hair out. I thought I'd love it but I fucking hated it. So before you commit more of your resources to being a teacher, spend a week in a classroom as a volunteer. The should make everyone who wants to be a teacher do this to start, but instead them let them spend years on "preresequits" and bullshit before they get them in a classroom. Big mistake, lots of teachers are stuck and hate it - doing it to live for their summers.

The stupidity and native ignorance of young basketball americans is horrifying and stupefying and they (everyone) want you (the teacher) to turn that shit around after the horse has already left the barn. No thanks. Fucking hated it.

I grew up in extreme poverty, father having died of cancer at an early age and proud mother not remarrying having tossed the welfare people off the front porch (OK, she yelled them back down). I learned that literacy was one of the most important things in life and I owe my mom big for that. One can usually figure out where food can be had, gleaning fields, dented cans, etc. but reading is top of the pile for importance. When you have kids, block out time for them every day so you can read together, starting when they are still in the womb.

They say: "don't sweat the small stuff" which has more meaning when you learn that "it's all small stuff".

Best of luck.

You should look at manufacturing plants in your area if you don't desire to be a teacher making 30k a year. If there aren't any jobs around, consider moving to an area that has some. Plenty of industry in my state. I went to college for two years and didn't like it anymore. No debt fortunately.

Give it a go

You sound like a bitch not gonna lie. Did you forget last century millions of young men didn't even get to make it to 30 before they died a gruesome death, and all for their own peoples destruction? And today millions of young white men, many on this site won't get to have the lives our boomer parents got. Life isn't fair, we get to live in the hard times now, the good times are over, think of how even more fucked zoomer white males are going to have it. I got lucky and this shitshow didn't start until my mid 20s. I got a good childhood and okay teenage years, thats more than i could hope for in this chaotic reality we were forced into. BTW, you know pell grants would have paid for your schooling right? I got $17,000 for my classes and i never paid a dime. Also, i get treated by friends, family and others as someone who doesn't know what they are talking about, NPCs shape their opinion of you on outward appearances, not what you say. $30 a year? More like $53k a year to start in relatively suburban Texas school districts.

https://www.misd.gs/careers/hiring-schedule
https://www.wisd.org/apps/pages/SalarySchedules

If you make $50k.
Your wife makes $50k.
You two pay $10k in taxes.
You two pay $10k for benefits.
You two keep $80k a year.

You two can live cheap in a rental until you can buy a house. Buy a house. You might life off $40k a year and save $40k a year.

Assuming you have no problems with contraceptives, avoid kids for a few years.

Pay off the house. Assuming you put $40k a year into a $200k loan, that's 5 years.

Add in one more year if your wife working for a nice emergency fund, and you are ready to start a family 7 years after college. Make sure your start a family before she becomes a damned feminist, about age 30.

Your wife leaves her job when she's about 5 or 6 months pregnant, and stays at home. You work 187 days a year (that's a standard teacher's contract in Texas.) You literally get to spend (365-187) / 365 = 48.7% of the days in a year with your wife and kids.

You are not screwed.

If your grades suck, slow down and take a few classes at a time.

You need a few things to get a job:
education
work experience
referenced
industry certificatios
* state occupational licenses

Get as many of those blanks filled in as you can, and the jobs will appear.
