New Math. When $36 is actually $20 Billion

OK, get your calculators out. Per the attached story: Food Stamp recipients will be receiving an extra $36 per month in October. From $121 to now $157. Thats an average. Not a hell of a lot. This $36 monthly increase will add up to $20 billion (again, per the story). If you divide $36 into $20,000,000,000, that means over 555 million people are on food stamps. There are only 332 million American citizens (https://www.census.gov/popclock/).

WTF?

Actually, you're missing that the its $36/month and $20B/yr. $36/month = $432/yr. 20B / 432 = 46.3M people.
