Catching something and getting over it is always better than vaccinations. The whole point of a vaccine is to prevent diseases that cant easily be fought with natural immunity.

The current vaccines CANNOT create herd immunity. The kind of immunity they create is shallow, it is not lasting and it is to only one of many antigens that make up the virus. Vaccinated people are susceptible to any virus with mutations to the spike proteing i.e. delta.

Likewise people with very mild asymptomatic or very mild cases may also be susceptible to another later covid infection. Apparently this is because the virus didnt have enough time to replicate in their bodies and their immunity is only based on some external antigens on the virus and not all of the antigens contained in the virus. This is what Ive heard a couple of virologists say. The kinds of antibodies that these people have will be different that of people who were sick for several days or weeks.

People who have had significantly symptomatic infections are the people that will provide good lasting herd immunity.

If the healthcare industry focused more on treating low and medium risk people who theoretically should get the disease and only isolating older and sickly from exposure and protecting them with prophylaxis (drugs, safe vaccines.) we could get to the end of this shitshow sooner.
