Look out the side window using the concrete barrier as a reference as you slow down and pull off to the shoulder, the plastic is likely to get caught in the wipers.

I had that happen with the fucking hood. The hood just flew up, slammed into the window and stayed there. I was trying to help this chick and she didn't tell me that her latch wasn't up to snuff before I went driving on the freeway!

It blocked the camera completely, not necessarily his eyes. He could probably still see well enough to safely pull onto the shoulder.
