It's such a sleazy, effeminate language. No idea how it became so romanticized.

To me, Spanish is fucking horrid. Greasy pig latin at its finest. It's a simple language that produces weak minds.

All things pro-french are born from its proximity to England. England is so boring that anything French seems interesting.

French food is so Amazing!! Nope. Just better than British food. The French are so sexy! Nope, just more sexy than stocky British women.

And then because we belong to Anglophone culture we adopted it by osmosis.

I would say that on any dimension that the French are viewed positively the Italians have them beat handily.

Much of French Cuisine uses offal and offcuts (Heads, organs, hoofs, shanks trotters etc) - that would normally be thrown away.
Only due to the near starvation and desperation of the common folk was an entire catalogue created for making such things edible as well as pleasing to the palate ....

While that may be true for French, I've heard every dialect of Spanish from all walks of life. My dad and his siblings were partially raised in Cuba by missionary grandparents. My dad went on to be a respected translator and book publisher, in several languages.

Growing up, I heard him speak the filthy language more than English through his business contacts and constant conference calls.

"Simplistic and greasy" is the best I can describe my opinion of it.

Ive noticed the language of a people tends to represent their traits and history. For example a nation with a bloody history has a language that is prone to sounding hostile. Sharp and choppy sounds.
