And soy is full of isoflavanoids, estrogen like chemicals.

[ - ] TomMacdonald 2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 15:05:22 ago (+2/-0)

They're natural estrogens correct? I don't plan on ingesting them but I heard some dr say that

[ - ] PostWallHelena 2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 16:09:49 ago (+2/-0)

Yes, natural. Isoflavones are flavonoids which will even have some healthful benefits as antioxidents. But too much of them may be harmful for the reproductive systems of both boys and girls. It is bad for thyroid function too, I believe. Its not like isoflavones are really toxic, or even that you can avoid them. Theyre in a lot of foods in low levels. But there is reason to think that a soy heavy diet may be having an estrogenic effect on people. Soy is really the biggest source but other legumes have moderately high levels.

There are a lot of synthetic chemicals as well that mimic estrogen (xenoestogens) found in plastics and pesticides and artificial fragrances, etc. All these could be sources of unwanted estrogen activity— feminization in boys, reduced fertility in girls.

[ - ] fightknightHERO 1 point 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 08:19:49 ago (+1/-0)

Really? even in artificial fragrances?
so perfumes make you gay... well i never knew!

Milk has estrogen. The myth about soy has been debunked. Rodents metabolize soy differently than humans. For humans to have the same effect as the lab mice, we would have to eat a very large quantity of soy. https://www.aicr.org/resources/blog/soy-and-cancer-myths-and-misconceptions/

Debunked. That word has become meaningless, especially around here.

They use it successfully to treat menopause.

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 16:13:47 ago (+0/-0)

menopause isn't a disease and doesn't need to be treated.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 4 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 16:20:58 ago (+4/-0)

Is prostatitis a disease? Its just the natural consequence of men getting old right? Does it matter if it causes symptoms that make people miserable? Guess not eh? Its all natural so everybody should suck it up.

Ridiculous.

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 27, 2021 10:01:50 ago (+0/-0)

You have really been fucked over by the media. Too much Oprah Winfrey and her panel of greedy and controlling experts destroying women

Prostatis is a disease. It's inflammation and swelling with serious consequences. Women get menopause like they get their period. It isn't a disease. All men don't get prostitis

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 27, 2021 10:40:12 ago (+0/-0)

Enlarged prostate is just caused by androgens as men age. Prostate meds are just hormone blockers. Eunichs don’t get enlarged prostate. Its just a natural condition in men. Its worse in some men than others. Same as menopause. It doesn’t need to be treated because its caused by a natural hormonal process right?
menopause isn't a disease and doesn't need to be treated.

Ready to rethink this one?

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 27, 2021 13:36:09 ago (+0/-0)

Absolutely NOT. When menopause becomes a treatable disease it's time for all women to die at 50.

Every man doesn't get an enlarged prostate. Every woman stops ovulating. Cling to the disease model if you want it so bad, but don't shove it down every woman's throat.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 27, 2021 14:30:27 ago (+0/-0)

Every woman stops ovulating.

Every man’s prostate grows as he ages. EVERY MAN’S PROSTATE GROWS AS HE AGES.

It does. Whether he has symptomatic enlarged prostate or at what age he develops symptoms is variable, just like menopause. JUST LIKE MENOPAUSE. INEVITABLE. Not a disease, nope.

Some women have no symptoms, some women have many. Just like with prostate enlargement. Its a natural inevitable process with some variation between individuals which is largely genetic.

it's time for all women to die at 50.

Ill tell my dad he needs to stop using his avodart because its time for him to die. Right? He’s “clinging to a disease model” and he just needs to realize its time to die. We shouldn’t treat men for difficulty urinating, its just a sign for them to die. We’ve been “shoving it down his throat” that he should take a pill to be comfortable. He just needs to die. Gotcha.

Promise me when you have the option to pee comfortably by taking a pill you will acknowlege that its time to eat a bullet. Kay?

Are you a eunich? No? Your prostate is a ticking time bomb. It will get bigger and bigger until you can’t pee. Deal with it.

[ - ] yesiknow 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 27, 2021 21:45:24 ago (+0/-0)

Yep. This is only one of the many negative health impacts that industrialized nations have increased in lock step with the increase in polyunsaturated fat consumption from shit plant oils.

Traditionally, we got most of our fat from saturated fat sources - primarily animal fats... and, despite all the worry about saturated fat and cholesterol today, heart disease was extremely rare. The plant fat sources we did get were mostly monounsaturated fats, like olive oil.

Stay away from polyunsaturated fats. This cheap factory-requiring nonsense is killing us, right alongside our dramatic increase in refined carbohydrate consumption.

Get your fats from things like grass-fed butter, olive oil, and avocado oil.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 21:43:29 ago (+2/-0)

Where the fuck do you get butter that actually consumes food?

Just messing with you.

Avocado oil is no good. Most avocado oil is mixed with other oils. Also, oils that are clear/yellow and have no smell are highly refined.

Grass fed meat and dairy is nonsense as well. Grass is likely filled with toxins more so than grain. There are no health benefits either.

https://www.ucdavis.edu/food/study-finds-82-percent-avocado-oil-rancid-or-mixed-other-oils
https://ivannikolov.com/grass-fed-vs-organic-milk-which-should-you-buy/
https://www.beefmagazine.com/beef-quality/grass-fed-vs-grain-fed-ground-beef-no-difference-healthfulness

Olive oil contains polyunsaturated fats. Carbs aren't killing anyone. It's high calorie diets that are killing people. People just eat way too much.

[ - ] observation1 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 00:39:44 ago (+0/-0)

what brand avocado oil and olive oil is real?

[ - ] observation1 1 point 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 00:41:18 ago (+1/-0)

fta Only two brands produced samples that were pure and nonoxidized. Those were Chosen Foods and Marianne’s Avocado Oil, both refined avocado oils made in Mexico. Among the virgin grades, CalPure produced in California was pure and fresher than the other samples in the same grade.

[ - ] Hadrian 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 29, 2021 23:32:42 ago (+0/-0)

Avocado oil is no good. Most avocado oil is mixed with other oils.

Alright. Don't buy avocado oil that's mixed with other oils.

Grass is likely filled with toxins more than grain.

Besides the fact that this is a ridiculous statement, since it's not financially efficient to use fertilizer or pesticide on grazing pastures (as is done on nearly all grain crop) since you'd get almost no benefit from it... it's not about the toxins. Grain is an unnatural addition to livestock diets, and their bodies produce healthier fats when fed with their natural grass diet.

Olive oil contains polyunsaturated fats.

Yes. At approximately 1:10 ratio with monounsaturated fats. It's likely one of the reasons people live a long time on high fat Mediterranean diets, but not on high fat Western diets.

Carbs aren't killing anyone. It's high calorie diets...

This isn't an 'either/or' situation. Of course high calorie diets are killing people. However:

A) High calorie diets are a lot more common with the addition of cheap, calorie dense refined carbs (like sugar) in everything, and

B) Our drastic increase in carb consumption is leading to higher blood sugar spikes, higher insulin, and more insulin-resistance complications in younger and younger people. This has drastic effects on diabetes (the complications of which lead to notably higher all cause mortality), blood pressure, heart disease, kidney health, and more.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 30, 2021 00:17:23 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah, you could order online your favorite pure avocado oil, but I'm just saying most people do not know this. I didn't until I started looking into it since avocado oil has become very hyped in last few years.

See the beefmagazine link about grain fed vs grass fed. The health differences are very minimal. I would rather have grass fed, but is it worth the extra cost, especially right now with beef prices jacked up? I had read somewhere about environmental toxins like dioxins, but apparently from they are not as abundant as they used to be.

"B) Our drastic increase in carb consumption is leading to higher blood sugar spikes, higher insulin, and more insulin-resistance complications in younger and younger people. This has drastic effects on diabetes (the complications of which lead to notably higher all cause mortality), blood pressure, heart disease, kidney health, and more."

Carbs aren't the enemy and even you said right before that statement that it's not "either/or". Sugar spikes, high insulin, and insulin resistance is hyped up to sell diets like keto. Insulin resistance exist but this usually affects very overweight people. Insulin always goes up and down. Every time you eat. Yeah, some food make it spike more than others but that's no cause for concern unless you're overweight. As long you keep your calories in check and eat a balanced diet you don't need to worry about insulin. Diabetics and pre-diabetics need to worry about that. I get that carbs are cheap to manufacture. About all restaurant food is high carb and high fat, and tons of sodium. People who eat out a lot are almost always overweight. People just need watch calories and having a balanced diet because what you're buying is a marketed product. It's not about a certain group of foods being bad like carbs. That's just more marketing to steer people to fad diets.

Whatever you do do NOT turn to Canola Oil instead of soy. Use less and use Olive oil.

[ - ] obvious [op] 4 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 18:29:26 ago (+4/-0)

Bacon fat, lard, beef fat, chicken fat, fish. All natural, good for ya. Vegetable oils are all processed, striped of antioxidants and sitoterols. best for lamp fuel and lubrication

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 30, 2021 00:21:06 ago (+0/-0)

It depends if the animal fat was hydrogenated. Many cheap lard products are hydrogenated just like vegetable oils which is what makes it unhealthy.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 15:58:00 ago (+2/-2)

The whole soy thing is not true. Soy doesn't have the same effects on humans as it does on mice. You would have to eat a large quantity of soy to really cause changes. Like maybe if you were consuming large amounts of soy protein powder everyday.

Asians have been eating soy for thousands of years. If soy was really the bad guy, you would think the Asian population would be much smaller in number (fertility) and lower IQ.

https://www.aicr.org/resources/blog/soy-and-cancer-myths-and-misconceptions/

[ - ] HomerChimpson 3 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 16:14:57 ago (+3/-0)

If you read the article you would have seen that they differentiate between processed soybean oil and other soy products.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 -1 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 20:07:28 ago (+0/-1)

That's a moot point because the original arguments are not about oils or other soy products but about the chemicals in them, particular isoflavanoids that mimic estrogen.

[ - ] HomerChimpson 2 points 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 02:23:22 ago (+2/-0)

The article is specifically about soybean oil

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 30, 2021 00:27:27 ago (+0/-0)

Fair enough, but they only tested on mice and if you read the link I posted you would see that mice metabolize soy differently than humans.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 1 point 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 16:17:47 ago (+1/-0)

Just because chinks eat it alot doesn’t mean its healthy and optimal. We drink milk all the time. We adapted to drinking cows milk as adults. Chinks cant have that shit at all. They shit their brains out. I dont think soy is poison but I do think eating too much of it could be less than healthful. And frankly we can’t depend on our scientific resaearch institutions to perform unbiased analyses on the subject.

I mean I eat soy all the time. But I would be a lot more conscious of feeding it to kids freely.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 20:19:32 ago (+0/-0)

I still avoid soy for the most part because I'm ocd like every other person out there, and yeah you bring up a good point about certain populations adapting to certain foods, but the whole debate isn't about optimal or healthy. That's a straw man. The point is that soy isn't some bogey man food that's going to turn men into females and cause women to have women problems. Apparently these myths have been debunked. The reality is that the food/health industry is full of lies and competition. It's a business and businesses will demonize diets, foods, drinks, etc, if they are in the way of their profits. What's really killing everyone today is overeating aka the typical American diet. The American diet has spread across the world due a larger supply of food because technology has allowed the creation of more food at a cheaper cost. People are just eating way too much. That's why everyone is sick.

[ - ] dassar 1 point 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 19:02:14 ago (+1/-0)

Don't Asians predominately use 'Fermented' soy.
Which not only eliminates a variety of toxins and parasites but is quite different to the many processed soy products that are made for mass consumer consumption.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 -2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 20:05:12 ago (+0/-2)

The processed soy argument is also debunked.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 21:11:51 ago (+0/-0)

Not sure what you're on about.
Have they debunked that Processed soy is the same as Fermented soy ??.
Cause my comment is about Fermentation opposed to the other methods used for Processed soy.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 -2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 21:37:55 ago (+0/-2)

Processed soy being bad is debunked. So, the idea that fermented soy is somehow the safe version of soy is no longer valid.

[ - ] dassar 2 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 21:49:19 ago (+2/-0)*

Lol. Wrong .
Just bc you say 'processed soy isn't bad' is false equivalency to then claim 'Fermented soy' isn't any less safe.
Fermentation has long been known as a beneficial method of food utilization, with the fermentation process adding the benefits.
Your idea that factory processed products with multiple artificial additives, artificial flavours, colors, added preservatives, added emulsifiers etc is equivalent is clearly nonsensical.
Next your be saying the vaccine is 'safe and effective' ....

[ - ] mattsixteen24 -1 points 3.5 yearsOct 25, 2021 22:18:52 ago (+0/-1)*

I never said fermented soy was bad and now your using a strawman argument saying that I believe all processed food is okay. Almost all food is processed to some degree or another. Milk is processed, cheese is processed, etc. The reality is some foods just taste really good and people tend to eat a lot of them because these really good foods also don't fill you up as much as say boring bland foods in comparison like vegetables. So people eat more and more of the tasty foods. They are easy to overeat. The food manufacturers know how to make really tasty food while keeping costs low by using all sorts of alternative ingredients, chemicals, flavor enhancers.

All those things you listed "multiple artificial additives, artificial flavours, colors, added preservatives, added emulsifiers etc" aren't technically bad for your health. They are just filler in foods that usually has very little nutritional value and also to make the food look better longer, hold better, and last longer. If these chemicals are harmful, then let's see the data. I just know that food that is very highly processed (ex. powdered donuts and cookies) have lots of calories. So if you're on a weight loss diet it wouldn't be smart to eat them. As long as your getting all your macro and micro nutrients and your calorie intake is not excessive you should be okay. At the end of the day all that "processed bad, sugar bad, carbs bad, fat bad, etc" is all just more fad diet nonsense that is about making money. Also, how the food is prepared matters as well. Raw food is always the best in terms of nutrients because heat and other processing strips the food of some of its nutrients. Also if heat is too high it create carcinogens like with frying oil.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 00:03:57 ago (+0/-0)*

You are just equivocating now.
I'm said Ferment soy is more beneficial than processed soy.
I never claimed you said 'fermented soy was bad' nor did i say 'you believe all processed food is okay' , so no strawman argument from me if i never even claimed those things. It's actually you implying them - the exact definition of using a strawman argument.
And Fck outer with your continue conflating and making shit up.
You're like talking to a 12 yr old girl that flip flops all over the place talking nonsense and making shit up to suit your narrative.
You also claim 'Processed soy being bad has been debunked ... so that fermented soy is somehow safer is not valid . False equivalency dipshit and then go on about how 'Raw foods are always best' - Um, what exactly is fermentation of raw foods then. Lmao.

[ - ] mattsixteen24 -1 points 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 08:00:34 ago (+0/-1)

No. You did say that and yes it is like talking to a 12 year old girl lol. But now you are name calling (ad hominem) me so I have no more interest in this discussion.

[ - ] dassar 0 points 3.5 yearsOct 26, 2021 16:57:26 ago (+0/-0)*

What an actual LIAR. Lol.
Where did i say you said "fermented soy was bad ". I never did.
I simply re-quoted you saying 'Processed soy being bad is debunked'. lol. Maybe read better next time.
And you're running away to your safe space because you are called names .
Can't be '12 year old girl' - cause you agreed ' yes it is like talking to a 12 yr old girl. Maybe 'dip-shit' then.
Anyone that purposely lies, engages in deliberate false equivalency, and creates deceitful strawman arguments is imho a 'dipshit'. Lmao. The fragility of being unable to back up your false deceptions.
They're totally right about you.
So best you do go and repent, your god has a thing for those who lie and engage in dishonest behaviour.
I'm screen-capping this for my collection. Thanks dipshit.
