I had a quick read through of the draft bill when cynabuns posted about it the other day.

It's 145 pages long and I only had a skim and searched some terms. There are good things in this bill, and it's almost entirely aimed at companies like Facebook, twatter and the mainstream media.

Searching for the term 'offence' only gave sections relating to senior management of Facebook etc.

I will look into it a bit more I guess, but take away positives are:

All platforms will be required to respect freedom of expression.

Political fuckery with social media AND search engine stuff will be banned.

Knowingly printing fake news, can now land senior management in prison.

I think the media might be full of shit on this one, communications act already put the legal kibosh on trolling etc
