I had 2-3 ft tall (body) owl land on the railing (of patio deck) while I was having coffee one morning. Stood there (I sat) looking at each other through the open door for a few minutes. Maybe he was hypnotizing me. THen he flew off, at a leasurely pace. I JUst sat there like bears often do.

Was coming here to post the same video. I imagine the principle is the same as with drones and noise - a larger, less loaded wing surface = less turbulence and less noise.
