I agree. I hope she didn't sign off on it but I was watching the twits who where making it brag online that she was involved. I'm not surprised she ruined it, just disappointed. Maybe should have let Sanderson have say, he was hand picked by Jordan to begin with.

I was honestly going to try and watch it even with all the woke bullshit because I really like the books, but making changes that fundamentally change who the characters are is way too much. And no Thom Merrilin? WTF? He's really as important to the story as Lan is.

I watched the second episode last night. I will say the Trollocs look like they were described in the books but everything else pisses me off.

Ah I see him on imdb now, he shows up episode 3 it seems. He should be there from the first episode, but at least they didn't cut him completely. It just points to more changes from the source. They really should have taken the time to flesh out characters in the town more and added some character development for the tons of characters who are core to the overarching story.

I found out the Jews were making it. Powered through the entire thing start to finish (LONG as fuck). Not in a good way. Best thing that happened to that series was Sanderson tying up loose ends. I also got exposed to him. I celebrate his entire collection now.

In the books the Seanchan (don't remember spelling) were black skinned, from across the sea, had a powerful empire, and arrive towards the latter half of the story to basically save everyone. Are the writers going to make them white now?

The baffling thing about WoT is that there are plenty of blacks later on in the books. Making Lan Oriental makes sense, though I can't remember if that is accurate for the books. The whole Malkieri region is heavily influenced by Japanese/Samurai culture.

In a situation like this where towns are fairly isolated, there would be NO difference in color between the townsfolk. They would be almost completely the same overall with small differences. Rand should look like a massive outsider, but because they force blacks into prominent roles, he looks less like an outsider than the others. It's contrary and against what the story originally laid out.

Not that they care for the source material, but wtf. Why change it for no plot reasons, and something that removes plot points for the first book on figuring things out? It is infuriating.

I'm watching it now.... it's worse than expected. So many awful changes, plus gratuitous nudity and sex? What the absolute fuck? This series is the epitome of high fantasy. There is nudity later because of cultures that are different (Aiel), but the Two Rivers is supposed to basically be Mayberry. Instead, Perrin is a nigger that makes his wife (not in the books) work the forge, Mat is a thief with an adulterous dad and a junkie mom, and Rand is banging Egwene.

What. The. Absolute. Fuck.

And the prologue doesn't show the Dragon breaking the world, they don't know if the Dragon Reborn is male or female, and there are 4 Ta'veren in the town. So many ridiculous changes.
