Closing arguments and jury instructions, then onto deliberations

Day 1 JURY DELIBERATIONS

"Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses."

"Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death."



QUICK UPDATE: 5:50PM Judge arrived, summoned the jury forewoman, asked if a verdict was imminent, she hesitated; judge rephrased question to see if she thought they'd like to go home for the night and she said yes. She left back to rest of the jury, judge asked attys if they had any issues (none), then judge requested bailiff bring all jury back in the room... they told bailiff that they wanted to continue deliberations! No time was given as to when they wanted to be done; the attorneys are on a 10 minute leash to return to court if the jury comes back. The video stream is still live. Does this mean we might have a verdict tonight?!

FINAL UPDATE: 6:20PM Judge returned and advised that jury has now requested to break for the evening. Jurors dismissed, court adjourned. Court resumes early, 8:30a EST/7:30a CST

We live in such bad times. Ahmaud Arbery clearly was casing houses and the neighborhood had several break ins. He wasn’t in “jogging attire” and had a criminal record. The video footage shows ahmaud go for the gun and Travis felt threatened and shot him. Self defense with no intent to kill. I’m sick of the endless coddling to niggers.

We should be able to have our own communities and not be forced to accept diversity at our own expense.

Well, essentially it comes down to whether they had reasonable suspicion of a felony crime being committed if you believe the prosecution's take and the defense says yes, they obviously did but beyond that, the man who pulled the trigger tried to deescalate and Arbery tried to take his gun. So, Arbery, who could have walked away at that point turned it into an assault on his part.

They went over this with Kyle, when someone grabs your gun you're always justified in shooting them.

This is what is comes down to for me. He grabbed his gun, he got killed. That’s his fault.
Whether they had the right to follow him and confront him is where I’m not sure where it goes. They may not be charged with murder but some lesser charge which will cause a chimp out.
I haven’t been following closely, just my thoughts from the beginning.

I haven't been following either (invested in the Kyle Trial). I managed to pop in at the right time today to see what went down with the jury. Maybe we'll see something tomorrow and I'll have a bit of time to watch
