Christmas as you grew up with it is an AMERICAN holiday. It is a cultural tradition based upon sharing and getting together with your family. It's scheduled a few days after the winter solstice because that's the darkest part of the year and it makes the long winter easier.

Passover is about an ancient curse that swept through an entire town, mysteriously killing all the goyim but "passing over" all the jews (because muh chosen pepo).

Christmas is completely pagan. Jesus was probably born in the spring/summer. In Nordic countries "Santa" is still called the "Yule Father". There is no deity other than God and you don't need to knock on an evergreen tree to talk to Him. He hears and knows all things unlike the mockery of God called "Santa".

Growing up with Santa Claus and Christmas was a great part of my childhood.

Put simply, pleasure in this world is not the purpose of life. Idyllic childhood remembrances are just that: idyllic. I really don't think it's that nutty to want to seek the pleasure of God and find salvation from non-existence, or worse, after death.
