I went there and saw it first hand, along with this accompanying gas chamber at Auschwitz. It came complete with loads of fingernail scratches on the walls. It's the one where if you ask your guide directly "was this a gas chamber" they have to tell you it isn't but if you don't ask they don't say anything. I think someone even got it on video asking a guide this question, in case you don't believe me that they do this.

When I was there they had a wreath set up in the middle of it. And we all got shoo'd away because some VIP group was there, let them inside they mulled around for a bit and left. What possible purpose is there to showing people what was essentially a storage shed next to a fake chimney? Because if you don't ask the question you are left to assume.

The soviets dressed it up and built the chimney.

If you do ask you are informed Auschwitz wasn't a death camp, the death camp is up the road a few miles called Birkenau 2. Auschwitz is the one with two swimming pools, all brick buildings, courtyard, a dang theater. Birkenau 2's gas chambers are all destroyed, but you get to walk right up to them and survey the area.

Looks like destroyed buildings, holes in the ground where some of the foundation remains.
