I would add "have more opportunities" in there as well.

The lack of opportunities for the successive generation stagnates the country, take Japan as an example.

The US had lots of opportunities up until the 1965 immigration push, feminism, etc. Now libtards graduate college expecting great things but end up serving fast food.
