Incorrect trinity stuff thrown in there really ruins it for me. But yeah... God has always existed and He made everything. He inspired shepherds among men to tell us that we will be taken to reckoning for all that we do, and that He has a paradise and a hellfire.
The bible is just a book of stories with absolutely no proof. Evolution and are current understanding of the universe proves the god of the Bible to be false.
The Quran states the heavens and earth used to be a single entity that God cleft asunder.
The Bible is the 5th hand triple-translated teachings of the friends of Jesus. Of course a literal interpretation of it is going to fail. Go read the Quran for yourself:
How can God be God, and not be "personal" as you mean? God knows your brain, your heart, and your soul better than yourself. How could He, the All-seeing and All-knowing, not?
it is very unlikely that the universe in its end will fuse absolutely all matter into blackholes that then evaporate into radiation. there will always be nonradiating iron cores of rogue suns fying about in the cold void..
unless we find a way to reverse enthropie, which i think we will.
God is a Computer that we will build in the future, which will then create the universe. doesnt make sense? well you see, time isnt linear, and the only thing that exists is the imagination of god, his own mind. which you are a splinter of. and once he dreamed his body into existence, we will be one with him in mind and soul. you will still be an individual, but you will be aware of your oneness in God.

To answer his question: I trust my own reasoning processes and thoughts, at least to some extent, because they are what evolved over countless generations as resources to survive. And since all of my ancestors clearly survived long enough to reproduce, that serves as proof of the efficacy of those reasoning processes and thoughts.
The human brain is still far from perfect, however, and it is susceptible to misconceptions and brainwashing, as evidenced by its willingness to accept extraordinary claims not backed by extraordinary evidence. Claims such as, for example, the existence of an omnipotent, omniscient being that encompasses and permeates everything in the four dimensions and beyond it.
I'm not claiming there definitely is no god, I'm just skeptical of one. And even if I did, would it really be all that extraordinary? Given that there is no concrete evidence of one whatsoever, only hearsay?
And yet the creator became created. It’s cool that we can know God without understanding the totality of power and ability… I always liked that you can’t put God in a box.
It is false assumption. The final Prophet of God, Muhammad (s), clarified the life of Jesus with the Quran.
Jesus was not killed nor crucified, but taken from this world unto God, outright. The Quran says this left the Christians in confusion, and that on the day of Judgment, Jesus will say before the Lord of All Worlds, "[I did not order them to worship me]".
Why would you assume there could not be an entity beyond full human understanding? Reality and infinity are already hard enough for me to get my head around, and the creator is necessarily beyond even that.

Out of nowhere today I had a weird day dream of being interacted with by something outside of the universe, kind of like I was a Sim in a simulation. Weird feeling. Granted, for the past few months I've been doing a lot of work on people generation for a game project I am working on. Imagine the "tetris effect" but with fake simulated people. It's weird.
last year I was heading to my fridge to get a beer and I was suddenly and unexpectedly taken away, far away, to where I eventually ended up outside of the universe. I don't know where the fuck I was but I was greeted by some weird being with a giant red strawberry shaped head and he told me that I was in charge of controlling the damned universe that lay before us. Then he left me in this crazy place with music floating in the sky that you could see, and numbers and letter just floating by like dandelion seeds. I do not know how to run the universe. I begged for them to return me to my home and my friends and was told no, and I kept begging and begging. Cause I really had no way of knowing where I was or how to even get back to where I came from. I was scared. Finally after a whole lot of begging they got sick of it or something and sent me back. It was fucking nuts. On the way back something in my head popped, like a balloon on the inside of my skull. Then things got really terrible, there was all these people, or entities, or whatever the fuck they were but they could get in my head and control my body. I could control it too still and this caused much fighting with myself inside of my body or my brain somehow. I don't get any of this but it happened. And everything here on Earth looked so damned fake and low resolution compared to where ever I was outside of the universe that nothing even seems real here anymore. I went and told my friends who were at my house at the time what had just happened to me and they didn't care at all. And that pissed me off, and I told them again, and I was getting all excited about it and they were like what do you want us to do about it? I don't know, just listen. So then I went outside and was fighting with those whatever was trying to control me and found a nice chair in the woods to sit on, a fallen tree, and i screamed and sweared at the sky for a couple of hours. Finally when I felt I could control my body again without interference I headed back to the house, the interference in control of me was not over, they just took a break or something and next thing know I was fighting these people again so I went to the other house on my property and talked with my son who lives there and told him what had happened and told him I think there's something wrong in my head cause others are controlling my actions against my will. He just sat there listening, and then he asked what do you expect me to do to help? How the fuck would I know. So I left him and went back to my home and my friends were passed out on the couches and there was a woman with her head down on the kitchen table sleeping or whatever, anyways I grabbed her by the hand and led her to my bed and fucked her brains out and she has not left to this day. Crazy man. Be careful

A Catholic Priest came up with the big bang theory because Einstein's stolen theory didn't fully coincide with the Christian understanding of God. The Big Bang Theory does.
Einstein had a petulant snit and said the priest couldn't do math right.
Asking where God came from is silly. We have insufficient data. It's like a video game character trying to learn something about the programmer of a video game from the video game itself. Can PacMan learn about the programmer from the shape of the maze, or when a pair of cherries show up? No. The information is just not there, at least not for PacMan to see or understand.
Kent Hovind was a really big influence on me years ago. I don't agree with everything he says but he opened me up to an entirely different way of looking at things.
I hate that it says the scientist (man asking the question) was left speechless. He asked a question and listened to the answer without interrupting, that’s not the same as being speechless. It causes the same level of cringe as atheists saying a scientist “owned a religious nut!”
In any event, I’m not going to pretend like I can know god, all I know is I am excited for my time when it comes, because I live my life the way my heart and mind tell me to, righteously and for my family.
I hate that it says the scientist (man asking the question) was left speechless. He asked a question and listened to the answer without interrupting, that’s not the same as being speechless. It causes the same level of cringe as atheists saying a scientist “owned a religious nut!”
Yeah... also the way he used emotions as evidence of the existence of divine intervention. It's a weak argument. I think he should have stuck to the metaphysics.
It’s how they all are, even on this site. I know that it’s my emotions that “tell” me there is some higher power, but I know that it’s just emotions. I know I have no proof and I’m completely fine with it, I’ll find out what the truth is when I die. I can live with mystery, in fact I prefer it that way.
As far as “what if you live in a way that displeases him?” If god made me the way I am and he wants to never forgive my mistakes and transgressions, then why would I want to be by his side? That’s some fucked up narcissistic behavior, no thanks.
That’s why polytheism makes more sense to me, multiple gods embodying different mentalities with their own versions of the afterlife based on those beliefs.
Remember, Lucifer/Satan/the devil was cast from heaven for stealing God’s praise. That’s narcissism 101.
And before the Christcucks come running in to tell me “that’s the kiked version!” what’s the unkiked version?
Remember, Lucifer/Satan/the devil was cast from heaven for stealing God’s praise. That’s narcissism 101.
Yeah, that always bothered me. Also the idea that heaven is supposed to be angels and saints singing gods' praises for eternity... I just don't see the point. It sounds vain and I doubt anything as powerful as the creator of the universe would have any interest in it.
That’s why polytheism makes more sense to me, multiple gods embodying different mentalities with their own versions of the afterlife based on those beliefs.
I see it a little differently. I think the divine is universal and complete unto itself, but humans are incapable of understanding it's nature. The only way we can understand it is through metaphors, like a family of gods with assigned natures and functions. I think it's hubris for any human to say their religion has the description of god and the other ones are "wrong" purely because such a thing is far beyond our comprehansion, let alone our ability to describe.
Each culture came up with it's own gradually changing descriptions of divinity in accordance with their culture and perspective on the world. The europeans tended to describe their gods as powerful masters imposing order on a chaotic natural world. The jews tended to describe theirs as (frankly) a vain narcissist who cannot tolerate any wrongthink against them and require constant affirmation.
Those are two very different world views from two very different people. We should never have borrowed from the latter or allowed it to enter our world.

The praise jealousy makes sense when it's applied to people. Put God above everyone else and you're less likely to end up with kim il jong ruling your life or any fuck face authority grabber.

Are we? Historically christianity was very effective in imposing secular authority. I suspect that's why (of all the weird cults that sprung up in the mid-empire) it was the most effective in securing hegemony.
I guess the issue I have is that emotions are relatively easy to explain phenomena. I can easily see why a species would evolve anger or jealousy. Existence itself is much more mysterious so I'd be more inclined to accept that as proof of a first mover.

It is more than just God.
Nothing is above it.
Nothing rules it.
Since everything exists within it
It does not exist within anything.
Since it is not dependent on anything
It is eternal.
It is absolutely complete and so needs nothing.
It is utterly perfect
Light. Energy. Life.
The One is without boundaries
Nothing exists outside of it to border it
The One cannot be investigated
Nothing exists apart from it to investigate it
The One cannot be measured
Nothing exists external to it to measure it
The One cannot be seen
For no one can envision it
The One is eternal
For it exists forever
The One is inconceivable
For no one can comprehend it
The One is indescribable
For no one can put any words to it.
The One is infinite light – energy - lfe
Purity
Holiness
Stainless,
The One is incomprehensible
Perfectly free from corruption.
Not “perfect”
Not “blessed”
Not “divine”
But superior to such concepts.
Neither physical nor unphysical
Neither immense nor infinitesimal
It is impossible to specify in quantity or quality
For it is beyond knowledge.
The One is not a being among other beings.
It is vastly superior
But it is not “superior.”
It is outside of realms of being and time
For whatever is within realms of being was created
And whatever is within time had time allotted to it
The One receives nothing from anything.
It simply apprehends itself in its own perfect light
The One is majestic.
The One is measureless majesty
Chief of all Realms
Producing all realms
Light
Producing light
Life
Producing life
Blessedness
Producing blessedness
Knowledge
Producing knowledge
Good
Producing goodness
Mercy
Producing mercy
Generous
Producing generosity
[It does not “possess” these things.]
It gives forth light beyond measure, beyond comprehension.
[What can I say?]
His realm is eternal, peaceful, silent, resting, before everything.
He is the head of every realm sustaining each of them through goodness.
This is what I KNOW and what I Know I believe.

Your Jew-God is all powerful?
Or...
