Which is why you don't clump together on fresh ice...hell we don't even park our sleds close to our fishing holes until there's at minimum 6". On another note, I crossed a freshly frozen bay on Lake Superior yesterday on my 600 Skandic at a speed of 75MPH hr for the distance of just over a mile, launching onto the ice I broke through, as I expected, but the heavy lugged track propelled me forward with no hesitation, I kept it pinned to the bar with no intention of stopping and when I hit shore I knew I still had it in me to know what I was capable of doing...it's like a yearly ritual for us when ringing in the new fishing season. One more week of this cold and the ice will be unquestionable.
