It's interesting isn't it. There are certain kinds of art that seem to stand on their own. They'd be art in any context, and those are the kinds that cause us to look at them and wonder. Then there are pieces like this, which are undeniably artistic, yet we wouldn't be stopped by them if we'd seen them on a wall somewhere.

But, if you gave this art context and purpose, we'd start to appreciate it more. Imagine if a grocery store had paid this artist to do wall art for the various department's in the store. If this was featured in the produce section, I think you'd suddenly appreciate the idea of the grocery store more. What this relevance part does is weird and hard to pin down.
