This is just one example. Look up "necklacing" there are many crimes where the accused are wrapped in a rubber tire "necklace" and doused in gasoline and set on fire to burn to death. Its not cruelty.

To be cruel you have to have a moral code, compassion and the ability to understand what you are doing, so a baseline you can deviate from.
