No need, watch the movie. It surprises me how everyone and their Mom seem to have such nostalgia over this show when the only real thing about it was how it made no noise in space. Just get Nathan Fillion to star as Drake from Uncharted and put him in the same role in space and you have your sequel.

While "Wild West Space" actually can be very compelling (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyVuuXUR7Lc ), the show appeared like a mash-up of several intuitively unrelated genres which they didn't do a very good job at.

Also Jewel State was the cutest being to ever walk this Earth, holy shit

Agreed. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Firefly was enjoyable but no masterpiece. In no way does it deserve the rabid fan-worship it gets.
