"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" is very relevant here. The integrity of government systems was obvious from when they first implemented the mygov system and the way they handled the rollout of the NBN. Anyone who didn't expect this is just another person who didn't learn from history.

i reckon i checked in via q code about half a dozen times right back in the beginning and every time i did i would get an SMS within minutes telling me 'my package has arrived at post office'

its been compromised since day 1.
