I think it's interesting. It came up recently and I heard the song. I think there are a few lines that are clear and I've always thought the way, it is sung was odd and sounded backwards.

Did you listen? Isn't it odd that the song makes inferences to the devil and when you play backwards it mention satan several times. The song has always spunded weird to me like he is trying to sing backwards.

Interesting breakdown. I think the lyrics are supposed to be someone who sees value in the wrong things and always gets her way. She thinks luxury and church donations are the way to heaven. But then it stops making a lot of sense. Being cast out of Eden to the East is very interesting. I was imagining someone travelling to the East and as the sun goes down (aa it gets late in life) our shadows grow longer. The closer to sunset the taller they would be and perhaps more corrupted we would be. I've thought it to mean that you can ask forgiveness at anytime, but the Satan references cha ge that. Also, the pied piper was a story that wound up with all the children being led away to satan because their parents didn't pay him his due.
