LOL, reminds me of Australia, when they bring out some "aboriginal" person, and they look nearly as white as me. Sometimes the only hint is they have a broader nose than a typical white person.

American Indians, too, are often white AF. You'd never be able to tell until they show you their Navajo card. It's mainly a gibs status and for affirmative action and shit like that. One reason it's appealing to whites like Elizabeth Warren to claim to be Indian is that nobody is going to contradict you. They do, however, require more than a self-assessment for gibs; the Tribe has to recognize you.
