My house got riddled with covid - what a nothing burger, am I immune?

So, on Sunday last week, the wife felt run down and did a lft covid test - it came positive, and so she requested a PCR and that came up positive too.

So wife got sick - had covid - felt a bit under the weather for a few days and had a sleepy day, the day before she was back to 100%.

Baby also got sick, and turned into a full on pestilence machine (coughing in my eye regularly, and spreading her covid bio-film on every surface)

Baby recovered from the sniffles in about 3 days, same as wife though she started a day later.

Me on the other hand.... Nothing. NADA, zilch, zip.

Now I put this down to the fact I deliberately allowed myself to be exposed to low level contact with the virus, by simply ignoring the covid bullshit.

Glad to know first hand what utter bollocks this covid shite was, can't believe people took an experimental Vax for this. If it wasn't for the legal requirement and offer of gov money (let's see if that comes through) we'd both have easily felt well enough to go to work

UK rules on isolation. If you or someone you have had significant contact with tests positive for covid you are required by law to isolate at home for 10 days.

The poetic carrot / stick the UK gov used was:

"£5000 fine if you don't, £500 payment if you do"

Which shifts the equation pretty favourably to actually doing it, because fuck it, sit on my arse get £50 a day and still collect sick pay / benefits / pension whatever

The worldwide EUA for RT-PCR testing of Sars-COV2/ covid19 was withdrawn by the FDA and expired in Dec 2021.

You can have cancer or tuberculosis and there's a period of time without symptoms. Colon polyps, dude. They gotta knock your ass out and stick a thing up your ass and you won't have symptoms. In fact, any infectious disease, really, has an incubation period where you're contagious before you exhibit symptoms.

The idea of not taking any disease seriously until there are symptoms is foolish, at best. This is why you go to the doctor on for regular checkups.

Omicron seems to be mild but it is killing some elderly people and we don’t know what all the factors are for why one person gets sick and another doesn’t. It's possible you have immunity via Sars-Cov-1 (SARS) which came out 20 years ago. This one is Sars-Cov-2 (Covid19, or the coof), fyi. The T cells from #1 also kill virus from #2.

The first variant was deadliest. Delta was more virulent but less deadly. Omicron was extremely virulent and presented as a cold.

That said, even with the deadliest variant not everybody reacted the same.
