In his book, No Longer Separate, Not Yet Equal; Race and Class in Elite College Admission and Campus Life, Espenshade notes that the biggest testing advantage belongs to African-American students. Black students who were accepted into these elite schools could have SAT scores on a 1600 scale that were 310 points lower than a white, middle-class applicant. Hispanic applicants enjoyed a 130 point advantage.
I agree that the current state of academia is in great distress, but to abandon the pursuit of knowledge in its entirety is the outcome that our enemies desire. Without our technology, we will be incapable of defending ourselves from sophisticated enemies.
There are many paths to knowledge. Most good ones are personally acquired. It’s universities I dislike. My father was a PhD professor and I got a GED 8 years after I should have graduated HS.
