I find it funny as hell that both the Russian and Ukraine troops wear camoflouge uniforms, then tie bright colored tape on their arms and legs.

Yeah. Camo is laughable... Until you see a guy disappear in sage brush.

Also, if you ever need to find a pair of camo pants in a pile of camo clothing, you will never find it.

The economics of militaries is interesting.

Producing high volumes of uniforms can be a logistical nightmare. Most uniforms are designed based on a specific "most probable" situation, ie, fighting in rural areas.

The economics to redesign and mass produce uniforms for urban combat is pretty costly, and in most cases isn't considered a highly necessary act.

The soldiers just go with what they have, and adjust to make differentiation easy to see.

I'd think the best you can do in urban is wear black and hope it's night time. Works for the "urban" idiots who jaywalk trying to get hit by cars.

Definitely best for insurgents and local rebels.

For "official" armies, the uniforms have to adhere to a minimum set of requirements to not fall afoul of the Geneva Convention and other "rules of war" type documents.

Any military would do the same thing if they were fighting another uniformed military with a similar patterned camo and the same types of vehicles and weapons.

Especially when it's whites on both sides.

They're never really camouflaged in cities.

They may as well wear 1960's polyester leisure suits with wide lapels and fat ties.
