Is Christianity a cult or are some sects cult-like in their interpretation and the Bible actually contains Universal truths that some people take too literally?

I've had a lot of trouble talking to some Christians who fall into the trap of literalism.

It's impossible to convince christians of their religion being false. Christians have developed many copes to counter anything that would disprove it. I know, I used to be a devout born again christian, I spent 20+ years fully believing, preaching and trying to convert people to it.

Christianity is genius in it's construction. It first pulls people in by playing on one of our most basic fears, death. It tells you that it has a solution, a way to not only be unafraid of death but actually be rewarded for it. That's how it mainly draws people in nowadays, it takes advantage of people who are down on their luck and in bad situations and promises to help them. A lot of time those people are alone so the comradely of being in a church convinces them it was a real change.

The death aspect is also why christianity creates people who will never actually stand for anything. The religion is a death cult. It short circuits the drive that normal people have towards their life and instead focuses it on their death. The entire life of a christian is dedicated to death.

There are also the multitude of pretty sounding reassurance verses that people will read. You can't drag a Christian out of Christianity because they will just fall back into reading verses and they will get that happy feeling and be assured it's true.

The reality is you can't convince a christian that their religion is false but only they can convince themselves. It's a cult and they can only rescue themselves from its pull. Like all cults the members in it constantly doubt whether their cult is true but constantly immerse themselves into the cult material as a way to convince themselves it is.

who fall into the trap of literalism

The -ism that represents choice (suggestion) to choice (consent) contract law; which represents the inversion of of balance (offer) to choice (response) natural law. All suggested religions (from Latin religio - "to bind anew") represent the same contract law with a different sales-pitch.

to convince...of...being false

That's because "truth" does not represent a state within natural law for form (life) within flow (inception towards death). Within constant change; one cannot define a fixed meaning without ignoring the ongoing system.

"True" represents the choice to want suggested information; while "false" represents the choice to not want suggested information. Both true and false are defined by those who make the suggestion; not those who fight each other (want vs not want) over the suggested meaning.

counter anything that would disprove it

That's because they are stuck within the conflict of reason (want vs not want); while you are suggesting contradictions to them; which they perceive through the lens of conflict; hence defending their position. The only thing that can overcome the self imposed grip of suggested information is adaptation to perceived inspiration; which also can only be done by oneself. We cannot share inspiration; we are inspiration within a moving system; but everyone else has the choice to ignore it for suggested information.

by playing on one of our most basic fears, death.

That represents suggested progressivism (outcome oriented); while ignoring that life isn't outcome oriented (inception predefines death); but balance oriented; hence representing the responding free will of choice.

a solution, a way

As form (life) within flow (inception towards death); it's flow that represents the only way for all the form within. The parasites suggest to go with the flow instead of balancing within it. Form within flow represents temporary resistance to ongoing velocity; hence the struggle to survive while adapting to being moved.

be rewarded for it

a) choice of want (temptation luring towards death) over need (resisting the temptation for the sustenance of life).

b) ALL (flow) is offered to each ONE (form) within, hence each perceiving everything; yet lacking comprehension about what it means. Why? To allow temporary growth (form) within ongoing loss (flow). The parasites exploit those who ignore the need to adapt to everything (reality) by suggesting them to want nothing (fiction). Look up Seinfeld - "the nothing pitch"

The religion is a death cult.

Not "the" religion; but consent to the suggestion of others; which binds one anew (religio). When you suggest "the" religion, you point out a specific one; which triggers the conflict of reason.

Ignoring perceived (inspiration) for suggested (information) is what represents willingly consenting to self destruction; while ignorance corrupts ones comprehension about doing it.

towards their life and instead focuses it on their death.

Life represents a response to being moved towards death; so one doesn't need to aim towards, one needs to respond to source (choice to balance; with balance representing the momentum of motion.

the entire life of a christian is dedicated to death

The choice of a believer (want) and non-believer (not want) is dedicated to ignore need (sustenance of life) for want (temptation luring toward death).

sounding reassurance

Sound is perceived (need); reassuring sound is being suggested (want) by the choice of others. Before the suggested word comes the perceived sound. The parasites corrupt the comprehension of the ignorant many by suggesting words as meaning "insane person"; which corrupts those who consent to ignore perceived meaning...insane aka in sanus (within sound) + person aka per sonos (by sound).

One exists within sound; by sound and in response to perceived sound; hence having the choice of resonance (need) or dissonance (want).

they will just fall back into reading verses

If one points out the contract law underneath the suggestion; the suggested becomes impotent. "in nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti" starts with "in the name of" (in nomine). That's the parasite suggesting towards consent; which makes everything afterwards the sales-pitch for the contract between choice (suggestion) and choice (consent). That's submission of free will to another aka ignorance of being "free" will of choice in response to the "dom"inance of balance aka free-dom.

only they can convince themselves.

Reality doesn't require convincing choices from those within. Suggesting another to question suggested false information; only tempts them to seek more suggested true information. That only feeds the conflict of reason (want vs not want); by tempting those within to simply change sides within the same conflict. If you're republican (want) then switch to democrat (not want) until you comprehend that you are still within the same conflict...a conflict defined by neither side; but by the parasitic 3rd party that makes the suggestion (politics aka representative government).

The entire life of a christian is dedicated to death.

I disagree. Christianity teaches you how to live a life without unnecessary turmoil. Faith is a choice, it's not sprung upon you by some muse.
I came to believe in God because I saw His power work in my life. From there I chose to become Christian. It's a system that works well for me in my life. Ever made the same mistake over and over again? Christianity gives me the tools to break those downward spirals. Heaven is the promised reward, but doing the work and knowing that you are forgiven when you fall short is the gift.

i believe you are correct.

im ex atheist and love reading old history.

when i read genesis i dont read a literal 7 day creation nor to i read a 1000 year lifespan for 'a guy named x who begat a guy named y' - i read a very very very dumbed down big bang theory and evolution, written for barely literate goatherders who spoke ancient extinct languages.

a lot of literalists are waiting for some kind of fucking Cthulhu looking motherfucker as beast of the sea, i dont see that, i already see the beast of the sea in the internet, and the mark as the upcoming jabs and passport system, probably the social credit score end game.

If you want to disprove Christianity, go for the prophecies.

Be warned, that is very hard to do - and you may find yourself believing more and more.

A lot of the prophecies are very cryptic, by nature, but some are pretty straight forward.

Some of the ones coming up: the two prophets will preach to the whole world, and be killed, and the entire world will see their bodies for 3 1/2 days.

Two thousand years ago, who would have foreseen satellite broadcasts to every corner of the globe?
