Coach Red Pill had a pretty good analysis of the "war" from the hotel in Kiev.
Russia is not invading to destroy the country - there are specific goals.
Russia does not want to spend money to rebuild infrastructure if it can be helped. The US loves to throw money around before, during and after a war - giving contracts to "cleanup" and "rebuild" for outrageous prices.
Russia started the invasion using the older generation of weapons and "JV" (CRPs word) military because the Russians do not want to engage anyone in a high casualty war. Russia sends out an invasion force and then backs off when any resistance is met. This allows gauging the resistance, and also minimizes casualties on both side, while finding out the borders to do an encirclement.
Nobody does war like the US because the corrupt contractor wars are very unique to the US. Russia wants to live along side Ukraine and that means not making enemies of the locals.
This is a throwback to the wars of the Middle Ages when armies fought each other and the only impact the war had on the locals was who they paid taxes to.
The ultimate conquerers were the ancient Romans. When they wanted a new territory they would approach the leadership and ask them to surrender. The leaders could remain in power but as a vassal state. The leaders would also be promised wealth and a more advanced lifestyle because the Romans were technologically superior to their neighbors.
They would also provide the proletariat with this information and tell them that their lives would also improve if they simply acquiesced to Rome. The proletariat was also promised citizenship if they served in the Roman Legion for a certain number of years. Having citizenship was very valuable in the Empire because only a relative few number of people were actually Roman citizens — even if they were born in a Roman controlled land. Citizenship was something that had to be earned and there were a number of benefits to being a citizen versus being a non-citizen.
That was the carrot.
If the nation in question did not surrender Rome got out the stick. They would wage war unmercifully until the land was conquered and all opposition was eliminated. The survivors were then taken and used as slaves. The conquered land was given to Roman citizens.
Now despite whatever carnage was done to the conquered territory during the war, the Empire would not only repair it, but it would be repaired to the greater technological capabilities of the Romans. There would also be new things added like aqueducts, running water, and sewage systems that these lands never had before.
Consequently, the land would soon be more advanced than it was before the war and the people living there would have greater wealth and better lifestyles. As you can imagine, most of the territories actually chose to surrender and welcome the Romans because the people knew life would be significantly better under Roman rule. Some places even petitioned the Empire to take them over.
I write this informative little story because I think it is what the Russians are trying to do with the Ukraine. They want the people to have a better lifestyle than what they are used to under their current government. A big part of giving them a better lifestyle involves minimizing the killing and destruction during the conquest. If the Ukrainians find life better under Russian rule they will be less likely to be influenced by Western GloboPedo and Russia will have a more secure border.
What was the Romans main objective with conquering other nations? They weren't trying to spread religion. Was it mainly for territory and trade? Or possibly also to build up a larger army from other large competing empires.
Russia wants Ukraine to be a buffer state. They don't want nato war mongers on their door step point missiles at them from what I gather. They also are trying to protect their future economic interests in Europe, but I see this as secondary.
I saw all these signs on the freeway today of brainless parrots repeating the jew press' lies, "we stand with Ukraine". Such bull crap. Quite the opposite. The U.S. Gov't funds the murder of Ukrainians with U.S. tax dollars.
Good question; they would actually let the religion in the conquered territory stand and would allow the 'new' gods into their own pantheon of gods.
Was it mainly for territory and trade?
Yes, because that meant more power in their system.
Or possibly also to build up a larger army from other large competing empires.
Yes.
Russia wants Ukraine to be a buffer state. They don't want nato war mongers on their door step point missiles at them from what I gather. They also are trying to protect their future economic interests in Europe, but I see this as secondary.
Agreed.
The U.S. Gov't funds the murder of Ukrainians with U.S. tax dollars.
I have studied soviet war tech since the early 80's onward and specifically studied 80-90 eara cold war Nato/soviet invasion/counter invasion doctrines...
(ya I know, i know...I'm that dude on the inet claiming big stuff... take it for what this is worth... )
You may also consider the following:
the first wave or russians: 3rd tier troops/reservists/conscripts, a few malita groups. Poorly equipped with 80's era weapons and no supplies. Almost 60 year old t-65's, 50 year old t-72's, and almost 60 year old BMPS. Have little intelligence on overall op in case things go wrong. The ruskies also committed some tier 1 paratroopers for fast strike operations in this wave. Russia had literately thousands of these old tanks and APC's laying about in fully working condition , left over from the cold war era.
Does not go wrong and instead, ends up taking 1/3 of Ukraine within a week while taking fairly low-mid casualties on the oldest equipment and least trained/reliable troops, burns up 1/5th of the entire EU warehouses of ammo, burns up 5,000 nato javelins and 2,000-ish stingers... Holds back regular military to see what Nato and EU armies do... Does not endanger any long term supplies. (logistics man, its the real secret of any long term successful military campaign.)
Second wave of freash russian troops now in. 2nd tier trained regulars, full air support, full navy support. multiple amphibious attack forces in the 30k+ range, integrated artillery support, Modernized t-80's and BTR's. Still holding back full supplies, but the Russian war pigs have outrun their gas lines.( which sometimes happens in armored warfare) They sure do seem to have plenty of ammo though and seem to be shooting the shit out of just about everything.....
Ukraine has burned up half, maybe 2/3'rds of its ammo supplies and is begging for more ammo from anyone. nato countries start sending in more of their limited stockpiles.
russia will take 2/3rds of Ukraine in 10 days or less while burning up half-ish of natos ammo available stockpile...
Ruskies still holding back the premium of its military... another 200k-ish tier 1 troops with 3rd adn 4th gen t-90's, t-72b's, sa-500's and 1000's of uran-9's and nerekhta robo tanks(and i would bet good money we'll see some Armata's deployed before all is said and done) waiting for whatever NATO responce ends up being... as well as another 500k-ish malita on hot standby...with full warehouses and fuel supplies for the long term...
All the while daring ANYONE to even think of actual military intervention by going to defcon 2 with his nuke forces and openly saying he will "demonstrate" .5 megaton conventional thermometric bombs delivered by ss-30's within 18 minutes or less on any country that dares (looking right at the USA and putans comments last month about dropping a warning nuke on the old nevada test site) AND making unvield threats of using "something more devastating then nuclear bombs that the west could never imagine"
Also: The russian air support has been top tier since the beginning. Fully modernized attack copters,(alligators) and 50 year old HIND-8's and HIND-9's with fully coordinated air/ground mig bombings, and throwing older (90's era) cruze missiles around like candy...
Not sure I have seen Russian air drones in full operation yet. or strategic bomber runs. They might be holding these back yet...
You may be full of shit, but then so am I because I really like your analysis.
Russia has been planning this invasion for many years if not decades. They aren't fucking around on this one. They are 'easing in', but are prepared to rapidly escalate towards total global war if shit goes sideways. Nobody should make the mistake of thinking that Russia will not dare go nuclear and initiate "first strikes".
They said so, and they've been following through on their say sos, but our side is an insane doomsday cult.
I just hope Putin's comment about Israel giving up it's nukes is part of his final win. I don't think the doomsday cult is capable of winning, and I don't think that's its goal anyway. As long as the elites and all their stooges go on trial for war crimes, but I'm not holding my breath on anything
