You have a plumbing problem, you call a plumber. Your roof leaks, you call a roofer. Need some electrical work done? Call an electrician. Got a broken bone? see a doctor.
Doctors are simply providers of a specialized service. They aren't necessarily that smart (especially now that medical schools are graduating niggers and brown people). They don't love you. In fact, most of them don't even care to know your name. Don't go see doctors on a regular basis, only on an as-needed basis, and I recommend just about only if you have a broken bone or a bad cut. They can fix those pretty reliably. They don't spend time with you to determine diet, exercise, sleep, family history, occupation, etc before whipping out the old prescription pad. Their income is their number one concern and getting spiffs from pharma companies is a big part of that.
If you will take some time to think about how the whole U.S. "health care" system has been monetized and dehumanized it will help you to see doctors' places in the whole scheme.
Why is it that payment for medical services has been collectivized when the trades of no other service providers have been? Do you expect taxpayers to pick up payment to your roofer? Your plumber? Why has medical care been transformed into an enormous gravy train for entities that have positioned themselves to benefit from it?
Believe it or not, prior to 1972 provision of medical services was a not-for-profit activity.
"Health care" is something that, like a thousand other suckers that have been stuck into American society, has played a part in the destruction of our country.
Anything other than trauma doctoring is complete kiked bullshit. Trauma care has been perfected over millennia of warring. So yeah, get your broken arm cast.
Doctors are stupid motherfuckers who climbed up so fucking high on their own narco supply they couldn’t think their way out of a paper bag.
The Amish bring up a good example of what others on this site have mentioned as a fix to the problem: smaller communities. Bring back the town doctor, grocer, government, police force, etc. There's more accountability.
Yes, the perverse incentive structures OP mentions are real.
Yes, many, many doctors are oathbreakers, especially today.
That doesn't mean there are zero. Some actually DO "spend time with you to determine diet, exercise, sleep, family history, occupation, etc before whipping out the old prescription pad," and then again, holy shit, sometimes you need a goddamn prescription, and it would be good to know what will kill you if it gets mixed with other drugs.
Our elites are horrible, but it's not like society can do well without doctors, lawyers, scientists, and teachers. Yes, I know in America teachers seem out of place in this list. They just oughtn't. We'd also be better served of some of our best and brightest went into journalism. These are important jobs, which is precisely why it's so horrible for society that these roles are largely filled by horrible people.
But they aren't all horrible.
Don't be lazy. Do the work and find a doctor that treats patients more than diseases. They are absolutely rare as hell. We need to keep them employed and our bodies healthy. When it works everybody wins.
No the medical industry is a government sanctioned monopoly. Totally different from plumbers etc which are probably one of the last examples of capitalism still functioning in this country.
Remember that all the folks with “good” HC insurance plans, like government workers and people working for large corporations are fucking everybody else because they are driving up the prices.
Insulin doesn’t cost 300 dollars to produce. Its what companies can get away with charging people who have awsome coverage. Health insurance creates an all you can eat salad bar for the elite ensured and other people (small businesses, tax payers) have to pay for it. It discourages budgeting because insured PIGGIES can consume as much health care sevices and drugs for free. Theres no spending discipline. Jews caused this. Insurance always drives prices up. Insurance destroys accountability. Its as bad a money lending.
I'd say they are closest to a mechanic. I'm uninsured and when I need to go to the doctor to get some minor surgery on a toe and get charged $400 for it people act like I can't pay it or that they should feel bad for me because I have to pay it out of pocket.
I'd drop $1000 on a car repair if it made sense. Why would I feel cheated by life for paying $400 to be able to walk when in pre-civilized society I'd just be fucked? The non-insured system isn't that fucked if you know how to shop around. To the extent that it is fucked it is fucked because of insurance. Insurance is not the answer to the medical question. Teaching people that money's main purpose is to mitigate risks instead of for entertainment is the actual solution. Even in cases where things are more expensive. If you are faced with paying $2,000 or dying and you can't handle that it sounds like you don't know how to take care of a human life even when it's your own. You made $30,000 this year even if you are on the lower end of income. You just happened to have spend exactly that same amount? If it takes less than 10% of your income to ensure that you aren't going to die this year maybe you should be expected to be able to manage that, or be responsible enough that people are willing to give you loans.
In the past you could just say a member of your family was crazy and if you were higher on the totem pole they would be deemed crazy. I had a relative get a lobotomy simply because another relative hated them. Their stay was brief but that alone didnt keep them safe. They didnt survive long after that. Doctors are just strangers. Strangers that only care about you as much as a stranger would.
For a while there doctors insisted on calling people by numbers. I know someone who kept being called a numbers despite repeatedly saying their name. The doctor flat out ignored them until they had a flying bed pan hit their head.

Amish do live a bit healthier. There are no STDs in their group and guess what STD lead to? Cancer.
