Where did the term "woke" come from? I never understood this.

Do a search for "woke." All you get is bullshit and communist websites saying "woke' means social justice or some such crap all the way back from the 1940s. This makes no sense to me.

The first time I ever heard a term like this was being "AWAKE" from the first Matrix film. A term that meant you recognize the "System" and rebel against it. And now all of a sudden around 2018 or so I keep reading and hearing about the word "woke" which means exactly the opposite of what "awake" is. The "woke" are NPC zombies. The word "awake" has been destroyed once again by the assholes in charge of this God damned planet at the ass end of nowhere.

Who the fuck is perverting our language and how are they allowed to get away with it?

Probably what, 7 years ago, "woke" meant red-pilled... for a few months. Then it suddenly shifted into a mocking sarcastic anti-meaning of being a brainwashed groupthink sheep.

Exactly. I thought I was going crazy with some sort of Mandela Effect. The chans used to use the term, then it felt as if it became a statement in irony overnight. Can't find any old threads that used it that way, but it was common up until 2014-15.

First time I heard it was in a video from philly I think, where a nigger walks up to some other porch monkeys loafing around in front of one of those brick row houses and opens up on them. One nigger is shot up, laying there gagging and choking on his monkey blood, and the niggerboy tending to him keeps saying “stay woke, stay woke, stay woke, stay woke”. You know, over and over like they do.
That video made the rounds on old reddit/niggers back in the day.

This is where it came from. No one used woke this way until after this video went viral. 911 told them to keep the rapper "Capo" who got shot awake, not to let him pass out, so their way was to yell in his face over and over, "stay woke."

Woke came from the idea that decades ago if you were into fag stuff or antiracisms you were thought to be open minded. In the 80s it was still, to some degree, the counter culture so this and "progressive" caught on among leftist NPCs because some genuinely thought tolerance of degeneracy was the future. Racist, homophobic boomers were "asleep" and stuck in the past while the young and hip were woke to the mulatto fag future.

As they grew in power and more of their policies massively and publicly failed woke, much like SJW, went from a term they used among themselves as a point of pride to being something that normies used mockingly and ironically.

If I recall right the woke in their mouth was being aware of political correctness.
