The closer it is to a structure or power line the more you can charge. A small tree next to a house is worth more than a huge tree in the middle of a field.

That's not the fault of the cutter. It looks like the branch is hollowed out and snapped higher up than he cut. Looks like they already has a rope guy up clearing the top and knew this was a sketchy cut, otherwise they wouldn't have been filming a cut as basic as this.

It's a risk you take cutting down a tree. I can set a bottle cap on the ground and drop a tree on it 99.9% of the time, but that .1% is unpredictable.

I have one of those Stihl pole chainsaws and something has always told me never to get on a ladder while operating it. Anything bigger than that and I call my climber.

Hate to say it, but I have a Mexican tree climber I call when I need shit done. I had three different White boys, tree guys, come out to my property before I called on this dude, who gets it done. The White boys either didn’t want to climb, or wanted to use a boom truck, which I can’t have in the particular area due to irrigation underground and access issues. The Mexican guy is willing to do the work and he’s cheap. I tip him heavily because he gets it done.

Learn to sharpen a chain. It is easy and makes a massive difference. It takes just a couple of minutes. Chips should be coming out not dust.
