when I was young, we drove the blue ridge parkway and stopped at a rest area. there were some bear cubs that walked into the area, and some people started taking pictures. then they started putting sugar on their noses to get "cute" pictures. my dad, smart guy he was, put us in the car and left. we heard on the news later that some morons put their kid on the back of one of the bears for a picture, and the bear reached up and ripped the kids arm off. shit luck getting morons for parents.
And that is why I would not take a picture like that. I'd like to meet a lion and pet one as they are amazing creatures. But the risk is not worth the reward in my opinion. All it takes is one swipe from one of those massive and very sharp paws or worse a bite and that could be the end of you. Plus if one lion attacks the others will get scared and probably attack as well.

put the lion in between you and a horizon or a bush or something.
