How to add images to the sub description?

I see that some smarter goats have made stylized sub descriptions with images, special fonts and colors, etc. Example: https://www.voat.xyz/v/ClownWorld .

How is this accomplished? Do you just embed html? Markdown was not working for me.

You can use basic html. Mainly div, a, img and css styling.
