"Golden". Gold leaf is extremely thin. It doesn't take much to guild something with gold. There is a huge markup on it because it takes specialized and rare skills to do it well. But it wouldn't even be worth digging it up for the salvageable gold. Besides it being a gaudy design choice it's not as bad as it sounds.
