If you need a computer to work your company should be providing that.

It depends on what your job is. If it's office use, you'll need a good processor. If it's graphic design, you need good ram and graphics card.

Laptops are the one time where a warranty matters. A laptop that breaks one week after the warranty expires can cost more to repair than it cost new. Also, does the warranty cover data recovery? Losing all your work data can be bad.

If they're paying, buy the best. You can look up online what that is. I believe that Asus for a while, was the least likely to break. Use to be Sony. Also, ask around at work what people have found works for them, there may be specific things you'll benefit from -like do you need to have windows? etc

Otherwise, pick up a refurbished model with the biggest Hard drive and most ram you can find and run Linux Mint on it. Slap a ssd drive in there and just use the legacy hdd for storage and you'll be rolling.

Why did you ask this anon?

Picked this one up on Black Friday for $1,000. Works well enough with Photoshop, Excel, and dozens of browser tabs open.

If you're 3D rendering, may not be powerful enough.
