I blame GTA. They’ve glorified the thug life in that game by promoting nigger shit everywhere in it. From the characters to the music on the radio, to committing nigger-based crimes in da hood.

The game has gotten so popular that it is now ubiquitous. Seems everyone has played it at one point and that shit stays with you long after you’ve put down the controller.

Why does there have to be music at dinner? I went to the most expensive dinner I've ever had (it was the best steak ever too, though) but it sounded like a fuckin strip club in there. I don't get it.

Wish they would play some tool.

I'm going to hand them a music request next time I'm there.

I've been noticing this for a while now.... Rap / hip-hop / nigger slang is everywhere now. They have made what used to be fringe nigger culture the mainstream culture of America. Every jingle on TV has been re-recorded to be hip-hop style. Listen for it. Like the Nationwide jingle has a little nigger "beat" with it now. Even country music has rap interludes. It's depressing

The current state of music...
No musician necessary.

Everything pop culture is a grey bland blob of equality. The smooth inoffensive paste of Soylent beige.

I read a book where the author described this. Evidently, there is some industry term which eludes me at present for music where every song sounds pretty much like another. He went on to state this style of music was typified by the band Maroon 5.

I can speak a little to the music aspect of pop culture. It all follows the same recipe. Not only is it mostly just four chords, all popular music is written by about four people. It's as industrial as any soft drink, or fast food burger you can think of. It's just as unhealthy too. People are aware of the term "garbage in, garbage out" but they rarely relate it to music or cinema. The reality is that pop music is the fast food version of music. It adds nothing of value to your life, it allows you to not think about what you're listening to, it tricks you into thinking you've fed and therefore don't need anything else. Music is evey bit as important as food, but it's not acknowledged as such.

Totally agree about the comparison to junk food. I tuned out years ago. Couldn't name a dozen modern "artists" to save my life.

it allows you to not think about what you're listening to

That was precisely the reason the author cited for the music being formulaic. He discussed some studies that had been done where radio listeners were less likely to change the station when the songs were indistinct.

It all follows the same recipe

They literally follow an algorithm.
