Even at Easter my cousin just yaps about the videogame Wolfenstein out of nowhere then my whole fucking brainwashed family starts giving history lessons.
I don't know what it is, when anyone says ANYTHING about WW2 they have to talk about if for the next thirty minutes it's fucked
I went to see my dad and he was in his room listing to the "hay you" song from pink Floyd and I asked what the song was about.
He replied by saying "it's about the Holocaust" so I said "oh great" then left. It's all so tiresome.
Hey anon, dont be a weak faggot and stand up for your people, turn the 30 minutes of ww2 into a three hour segment. The facts are on your side. What the fuck, dude? Hey You isnt about the goddamned holohoax! Who is your dad? Ben Shapiro?
Hey you is part of The Wall album which is a reflection on the intergenerational trauma and futility of tradtional war. With this leading to psychological dysfunction. One of my all time favorite albums and the film is great too.
the wall is about matriarchal inflicted trauma and the continuous and escalating disconnects between Roger and people / fans / reality. it's his life story. duh.
I don’t really think its about the holocaust. There is an anti-totalitarian message in The Wall, which is a concept album. Its also about trying to overcome the alienation of modern life. This song is just about the character trying to overcome alienation and make a human connection. Slap your father for me.
Actually I should mention that my dad was somewhat on the liberal side, as I hear it, until he married my mom, who put an end to that shit pdq. She had a very strong conservative instinct.
A few years ago, after she died, I got J-pilled and started talking to him about jews. At first he was shocked and very resistant. The first few conversations, you wil hear: “oh no, how can you say these things.” But you are planting a seed. You can’t expect to havest the fruit immediately. After a few more coversations, and their own curious research efforts, you will start to see results. Now he says:”I wish Hitler won”.
Instead of complaining about sheep, approach your sheep, and steer them in the right direction. Plant the seed. Water it every few weeks. Ok enough metaphors. Don’t despair.
Hey you, out there in the cold Getting lonely, getting old Can you feel me? Hey you, standing in the aisles With itchy feet and fading smiles Can you feel me? Hey you, don't help them to bury the light Don't give in without a fight
Hey you, out there on your own Sitting naked by the phone Would you touch me? Hey you, with your ear against the wall Waiting for someone to call out Would you touch me? Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone? Open your heart, I'm coming home
But, it was only a fantasy The wall was too high As you can see No matter how he tried He could not break free And the worms ate into his brain
Hey you, out there on the road Always doing what you're told Can you help me? Hey you, out there beyond the wall Breaking bottles in the hall Can you help me? Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all Together we stand, divided we fall
He replied by saying "it's about the Holocaust"...
Roger Waters explained this song to Mojo magazine December 2009: "It's about the break-up of my first marriage, all that misery and pain and being out on the road when the woman declares over the phone that she's fallen in love with somebody else. It's a complete disaster, especially if you're someone like I was. I was flotsam on the turgid seas of women's power (laughs). Hopeless, really, I could do nothing but go fetal and weep. But the song is also partly an attempt to make connections with other people, to say that maybe if we act in consort, some of the bad feelings will go away. In community, there is comfort. The line, 'Hey you, out there beyond the wall/ Breaking bottles in the hall'- that is an exhortation to come closer where I live, so we can help each other."

Album: Pulse
Genre: Rock
Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles
Can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light
Don't give in without a fight
Hey you, out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out
Would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home
But, it was only a fantasy
The wall was too high
As you can see
No matter how he tried
He could not break free
And the worms ate into his brain
Hey you, out there on the road
Always doing what you're told
Can you help me?
Hey you, out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall
Can you help me?
Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall

Sounds like you need a new family.
